FPT Industrial, the Iveco Group brand specializing in advanced powertrains and energy solutions for on-road, off-road, marine, and power generation applications, has appointed AB Engineering and Systems Private Limited (ABES) as its first authorized distributor in India. The announcement was made during the inauguration of ABES’s newly refurbished corporate office in Chennai.
The partnership marks a major milestone for FPT as it expands its footprint in India, underscoring its commitment to deliver efficient and sustainable engine solutions to Original Equipment Manufacturers (OEMs) across multiple sectors. A highlight of the inauguration event was the unveiling of FPT’s F28 engine, a compact yet powerful engine designed to bring higher performance and flexibility to India’s construction and agricultural industries. The F28 model had previously debuted at the Bharat Construction Equipment Expo 2025, showcased at the CASE Construction Equipment booth earlier this year.
Founded in 2016 and headquartered in Chennai, Tamil Nadu, ABES has established itself as a leading provider of industrial automation and engineering solutions. Through this partnership, ABES will market and distribute FPT’s range of advanced engines to Indian OEMs, while providing strong after-sales and application engineering support through its newly launched brand, AB POWER.

The inauguration event featured a ribbon-cutting ceremony, a traditional lamp-lighting ritual, and keynote speeches from the leadership teams of both companies. During the event, FPT presented the official distributor authorization certificate to ABES, formalizing the collaboration.
The F28 engine, now officially launched in India, is a next-generation, high-performance engine designed for off-road applications and compliant with the Bharat Stage CEV V emission norms. Compact yet efficient, the engine delivers exceptional power density and flexibility for a wide range of machinery, supporting India’s evolving industrial and environmental standards.
