Flamingo Aerospace Private Limited and United Aircraft Corporation (UAC) today signed a purchase agreement for six IL-114-300 regional aircraft (68-seater) at Wings India 2026. The partnership is expected to progress beyond deliveries and move towards aircraft manufacturing in India over time, supporting domestic supply chains and generating jobs across the aviation ecosystem.
The collaboration marks the start of a phased regional aircraft programme aimed at strengthening India’s connectivity network. The first phase includes delivery of six aircraft, with scope to scale the programme further depending on commercial demand and operational preparedness.
Under the agreement, UAC has shared a cooperation framework with Flamingo Aerospace, including a step-by-step plan for building aviation capability in India. This will allow Flamingo Aerospace to carry out phased industrial activities such as aircraft assembly, customization, maintenance, repair and overhaul (MRO), and groundwork for future manufacturing and infrastructure development. The initiative reflects the long-term intent of both parties, subject to definitive agreements and regulatory clearances. Flamingo Aerospace has also expressed interest in additional UAC programmes for potential promotion and adoption in India.
Subhakar Pappula, Founder & CEO, Flamingo Aerospace, said “We are committed to strengthening regional connectivity and supporting the UDAN vision of a self-reliant aviation sector. United Aircraft Corporation will be a key partner in this mission by bringing advanced aircraft platforms, core technologies, and industrial expertise. This partnership will help build strong aviation infrastructure, support skilled employment, and improve India’s position in global aerospace.”
Vadim Badekha, CEO, United Aircraft Corporation, said “India is currently the fastest-growing air travel market globally, with passenger traffic increasing by up to 11% each year. As the world’s third-largest aviation market, India offers strong potential for regional aircraft operations. Today’s agreement confirms that opportunity, through the first delivery contract for the IL-114-300 with Flamingo Aerospace. The framework covers six aircraft deliveries beginning in 2028, and we intend to deepen cooperation through additional initiatives in the future.”
The IL-114-300 is a 68-seat regional turboprop developed for short- and medium-range routes. The aircraft is designed to provide fuel efficiency, operational flexibility, and performance suited to varied regional conditions in India. Flamingo Aerospace and UAC will also work together on certification pathways, training, and entry-into-service preparations.
