Hindalco Industries Ltd, in partnership with the Kuppam Area Development Authority (KADA), has launched a modern Multi-Skills Training Centre at its Kuppam facility in Andhra Pradesh, aimed at strengthening youth employability and supporting inclusive regional development. The centre was inaugurated by Andhra Pradesh Chief Minister N Chandrababu Naidu, along with senior Hindalco leaders including Samik Basu, Chief Human Resources Officer, Kopal Agarwal, Head – Downstream, and other dignitaries.

Designed as a placement-linked skilling hub, the Kuppam centre aims to train and upskill over 500 youth every year through industry-relevant programmes aligned with national and international benchmarks. The initiative is positioned as a scalable public–private partnership to support regional upliftment and contribute to the goals outlined under Swarna Kuppam Vision 2029.

Speaking at the inauguration, Mr Basu said Hindalco views skill development as a key driver of social and economic progress. He highlighted the centre’s use of immersive, AI-enabled learning through a collaboration with Eon Reality (USA), making advanced vocational learning accessible in local languages and directly linked to employment opportunities.

Spread across 22,500 sq ft, the facility features smart classrooms, specialised hands-on labs, digital learning zones and career guidance systems, focused on delivering measurable outcomes. Over the next three years, the centre is expected to train more than 875 youth and support up to 600 job placements, while indirectly benefiting over 5,000 family members and reaching 20,000 community members through awareness programmes.

A key feature of the centre is an AI-powered digital learning platform that works even on basic smartphones and provides lifetime access to learners for continued upskilling and problem-solving. Courses will be offered in Telugu, Gujarati and Odia, expanding access and improving learning comfort. Hindalco said this model will also be rolled out in similar centres in Gujarat and Odisha.

The programme is supported through partnerships with organisations including Philips Learning, Max Healthcare, SkillSonics, Indian Institute of Welding, Fronius, Seabery and NASSCOM, with NASSCOM certification planned for select training modules in AI, data analytics and cybersecurity. The Kuppam centre forms part of Hindalco’s Youth Employability Enhancement Initiative, which has helped create sustainable livelihoods for over 12,000 youth across India. Centres in Sambalpur, Dahej and Rayagada have already emerged as strong examples of measurable impact.
