Crompton Greaves Consumer Electricals Ltd (Crompton), one of India’s most trusted names in home and energy solutions, has announced a landmark achievement in its renewable energy journey. The company has won a ₹445 crore solar rooftop order in Andhra Pradesh, its largest solar contract to date.
Under this project, Crompton will install 2 kW on-grid rooftop solar systems across more than 40,000 households, amounting to a total capacity of 77 MW. The initiative comes just two months after Crompton entered the solar rooftop market, marking a rapid and confident expansion into the renewable energy space.
This milestone follows a ₹52 crore order earlier in the month, reflecting strong momentum in Crompton’s solar business. The company’s growing presence highlights its focus on innovation, reliable execution, and alignment with India’s clean-energy goals.
The Indian rooftop solar segment is currently valued at ₹20,000–25,000 crore and is expected to grow at over 20% annually, driven by improved technology, affordability, and increased consumer awareness. Crompton’s entry into this space positions it strongly to help accelerate residential adoption of solar energy nationwide.
Each installation will provide households with dependable, low-maintenance, and sustainable power, supported by Crompton’s trained engineers and extensive service network. The project emphasizes the company’s commitment to delivering energy-efficient solutions that improve everyday living while contributing to India’s renewable transition.
Promeet Ghosh, Managing Director & CEO, Crompton Greaves Consumer Electricals Ltd., commented “This ₹445 crore order marks a defining moment in our solar journey and reaffirms the growing confidence in Crompton’s ability to deliver scalable, sustainable solutions. With a robust infrastructure and a strong distribution backbone, we are confident of setting new benchmarks in performance and reliability for residential solar installations.”
Backed by over 85 years of engineering expertise, Crompton is expanding its renewable energy offerings across solar rooftops, lighting, and pumps, reinforcing its position as a forward-looking, sustainability-driven brand. The company continues to be a market leader in fans and residential pumps, with an extensive product portfolio spanning lighting, water heaters, air coolers, kitchen and home appliances.
Crompton’s continued investment in innovation, quality, and energy efficiency has earned it multiple recognitions, including three National Energy Conservation Awards (NECA) from the Bureau of Energy Efficiency (BEE), Ministry of Power, as well as being named among India’s Best Managed Companies 2022 by Deloitte Private. With this major step into solar, Crompton strengthens its commitment to advancing sustainable energy adoption across Indian homes—building a cleaner, smarter, and more energy-efficient future.
