Compass Group India, part of Compass Group, a global leader in food and facility management services, has announced the appointment of Rahul Shinde as Managing Director, effective June 16, 2026. The appointment comes at a pivotal stage in the company’s growth journey as demand for integrated food, workplace and support services continues to expand across India.
India’s institutional services sector is undergoing significant transformation, driven by changing workplace dynamics, evolving employee expectations, growing sustainability priorities and increasing demand for technology-enabled service delivery. Compass Group India is strengthening its leadership team to capitalize on these opportunities and accelerate its next phase of growth.
Rahul Shinde joins the organization with extensive leadership experience spanning India, Asia, Europe and the United States. He holds a PhD in Industrial Engineering from the University of Wisconsin–Madison and brings a proven track record of building and scaling high-performance businesses.
Prior to joining Compass Group India, Rahul served as Chief Executive Officer of Yum! Brands and Whole Time Director at Devyani International Limited, India’s largest Yum! Brands franchisee. During his tenure, he oversaw a network of more than 1,800 restaurants operating under brands including KFC, Pizza Hut, Costa Coffee and Highway Food Courts. Under his leadership, the company significantly accelerated expansion, increasing annual store openings from approximately 50 locations to more than 300 while modernizing over 500 existing outlets and enhancing operational performance across the business.
Earlier, Rahul served as General Manager for KFC Greater Asia, leading operations across Japan, Indonesia, Korea, Myanmar and Mongolia. His experience encompasses business transformation, operational excellence, technology adoption and talent development across diverse international markets.
