Chicago Pneumatic India has launched the new CPS 950-300 portable air compressor, designed to address the growing requirements of waterwell, mining and solar foundation drilling applications. Combining high air delivery, fuel efficiency and versatile deployment capabilities, the new compressor is engineered to help contractors achieve deeper drilling, improve productivity and manage operating costs more effectively.
The launch comes as drilling contractors face increasingly demanding operating conditions, including deeper bore requirements, challenging ground conditions, declining groundwater levels, rising input costs and tighter project timelines. The rapid expansion of solar infrastructure is also driving demand for high-volume foundation drilling, increasing the need for equipment that can deliver consistent performance, reliability and efficiency across demanding job sites.
The CPS 950-300 delivers 950 cfm at 300 psig, providing the airflow and pressure required for demanding borewell and foundation drilling operations. The compressor offers up to 10% higher fuel efficiency, helping reduce fuel consumption while maintaining consistent drilling performance and effective hole cleaning. With the ability to support drilling depths of up to 800 feet, the equipment enables contractors to undertake deeper drilling applications while improving productivity and controlling operating expenditure.
Designed for flexibility across different job sites, the CPS 950-300 supports both truck- and excavator-mounted configurations, allowing easier transportation and deployment in rugged operating environments. Its single-sided design provides convenient access to service points, helping simplify maintenance activities and reduce potential downtime.
The compressor is suitable for a broad range of applications, including waterwell drilling, coal and iron ore mining, and solar foundation drilling. This versatility allows contractors to deploy the same equipment across multiple projects, improve fleet utilisation and expand their service capabilities. Efficient hole cleaning, reliable drilling performance and deep-drilling capability further contribute to a lower total cost of ownership.
Commenting on the launch, Prasanna Kulkarni, General Manager – Power Technique Customer Center, Atlas Copco (India) Pvt. Ltd. said, “Drilling operations are ultimately measured by productivity, efficiency and profitability. The CPS 950-300 has been designed around these priorities, delivering the performance and fuel efficiency contractors need to operate more effectively and control costs. Its versatility across waterwell, mining and solar foundation drilling also enables customers to maximise equipment utilisation and explore new business opportunities.”
The CPS 950-300 is positioned as a versatile solution for contractors undertaking diverse drilling requirements, from deep waterwell projects and demanding mining operations to high-volume solar foundation work. By combining high-pressure air delivery, fuel efficiency, flexible mounting options and broad application capability, Chicago Pneumatic aims to help contractors increase output, optimise fleet utilisation and improve returns from their drilling operations.
