Charge_iN by Mahindra has expanded its ultrafast public electric vehicle charging network to 50 live locations across India. The latest station at HP Auto Care Centre, Sajgaon, Pune–Expressway, on the Mumbai–Pune Expressway, extends the network along one of India’s busiest inter-city routes.
The Sajgaon station is the first Charge_iN location to become operational under Mahindra’s collaboration with Hindustan Petroleum Corporation Limited (HPCL). The two companies had announced their agreement in March 2026 to develop EV charging infrastructure at HPCL retail outlets across India. Several more stations under the partnership are at different stages of development and construction.
Charge_iN stations are equipped with 180 kW dual-gun ultrafast chargers. These chargers can charge Mahindra’s Electric Origin SUVs, including the XEV 9e, BE 6 SPORTEQ and XEV 9S, from 20 per cent to 80 per cent in around 20 minutes under standard test conditions. Actual charging time depends on battery state of charge, battery and ambient temperature, charger output and other operating conditions.
The charging stations are being located along major highway corridors and alongside wayside facilities such as restaurants and cafes. This allows EV users to charge their vehicles while taking a break during their journey.
The Charge_iN network is open to EV owners across brands. Users can access the stations through the Charge_iN by Mahindra app, Me4U app and leading charging aggregator platforms. The network will also be available soon on the HP eCharge app. Mahindra EV owners can access around 35,000 public charging points through the Me4U app, including HP eCharge stations and charging points operated by other Charge Point Operators.
The expansion is part of Mahindra’s effort to increase access to fast-charging infrastructure and support the growth of electric mobility in India. The company is also working with partners to expand charging availability across major highways and urban locations.
Founded in 1945, the Mahindra Group has 324,000 employees across more than 100 countries. The Group operates across farm equipment, utility vehicles, information technology, financial services, renewable energy, agriculture, logistics, hospitality and real estate.
HPCL is a Maharatna Central Public Sector Enterprise under the Ministry of Petroleum and Natural Gas. The company operates refineries, terminals, pipelines and more than 25,000 retail outlets across India. Under its HP e-Charge brand, HPCL has established more than 5,600 EV charging stations and over 150 battery swapping stations across the country.
