Bystronic has entered into an agreement to acquire Isochronic AG, a Swiss automation technology company specialising in high-speed robotic sorting systems and software for sheet metal processing. Isochronic will continue to operate under its existing name following the acquisition.
The transaction will expand Bystronic’s automation portfolio and support its strategy of providing integrated manufacturing solutions aimed at improving productivity, flexibility and efficiency for sheet metal processors. Founded in 2020 and headquartered near Lausanne, Switzerland, Isochronic develops robotic systems for automated material handling and sorting. Its technology combines simultaneous pick-and-place robotics with a proprietary software platform, enabling high-speed sorting of heavy and complex material for laser cutting applications.
The acquisition will add Isochronic’s robotic and software capabilities to Bystronic’s existing automation portfolio. The technology is designed to automate sorting across different sheet formats and production requirements. Bystronic said its industrial expertise and international customer network will support the further development and wider deployment of Isochronic’s systems.
The companies have worked together for several years, providing a foundation for the latest agreement. By combining Isochronic’s robotics and software expertise with Bystronic’s experience in sheet metal processing, the companies intend to develop automation solutions for manufacturers seeking higher levels of production automation.
Domenico Iacovelli, CEO of Bystronic, said, “We have a long-standing relationship with Isochronic, and their innovative technology perfectly complements our automation portfolio. Their expertise in high-speed robotic sorting and software development will strengthen our ability to deliver integrated manufacturing solutions that create measurable value for our customers.”
Armin Haller, CEO of Isochronic, said, “We are excited about this next step with Bystronic. Our teams share the same passion for innovation and customer success. Together, we will be able to further develop our technology, accelerate innovation and make our automation solutions available to an even broader customer base.”
As part of the transaction, Bystronic will acquire the rights to Isochronic’s proprietary software and technology. These assets will allow the company to further develop and integrate the systems into its automation portfolio. The acquisition is expected to support the development of automated material handling and sorting applications for laser cutting operations. Bystronic will also use its global presence and industrial customer base to expand the reach of Isochronic’s technology.
The transaction is part of Bystronic’s broader focus on automation and integrated production systems for the sheet metal processing industry. The company aims to combine machinery, automation and software to help manufacturers streamline production and respond to increasingly automated manufacturing requirements.
