Bosch Limited, Brakes India Private Limited and Wheels India Limited have announced plans to establish a joint venture focused on advanced air systems for commercial vehicles. The new venture will operate as a 50:50 partnership between Bosch and the TSF Group companies represented by Brakes India and Wheels India.
The joint venture is expected to commence operations by the end of 2026, subject to regulatory approvals. It will focus on engineering, manufacturing and sales of electronically controlled and software-driven modules for air compression, air processing, air suspension and air parking brake systems for commercial vehicles. The registered office of the new entity will be located in Chennai, while the global supply chain operations for India and international markets will be managed jointly by Bosch, Brakes India and Wheels India.
Guruprasad Mudlapur, President of the Bosch Group in India and Managing Director of Bosch Limited, said the partnership marks an important step in strengthening Bosch’s leadership in the global commercial vehicle segment. He noted that the collaboration brings together strong engineering and manufacturing expertise to develop intelligent air system modules that will support the next generation of advanced commercial vehicles.
The announcement comes at a time when the commercial vehicle industry is undergoing rapid technological transformation, moving from traditional mechanical systems toward software-driven vehicle architectures. According to Bosch, the new venture will further strengthen its commercial vehicle motion management portfolio while supporting the increasing industry focus on automation, efficiency and safety.
Sandeep Nelamangala, Joint Managing Director of Bosch Limited and President of Bosch Mobility India, stated that electronically controlled air systems represent a key extension of Bosch’s mobility portfolio and will play an important role in enabling future software-defined commercial vehicle platforms.
Sriram Viji, Managing Director of Brakes India, said the collaboration will help deliver integrated air braking solutions for future mobility applications while supporting the industry’s transition toward intelligent and electronically managed systems. Srivats Ram, Chairman and Managing Director of Wheels India, highlighted the company’s long-standing experience in air suspension systems for buses in India. He added that the partnership with Bosch will support the development of advanced electronic air suspension technologies for global customers.
The boards of Bosch Limited, Bosch Group, Brakes India and Wheels India have approved the transaction. The companies believe the partnership will help address growing customer demand for safer, more efficient and increasingly automated commercial vehicle technologies.
