Bosch and Qualcomm Technologies have announced the expansion of their strategic collaboration to include advanced driver assistance systems (ADAS), building on their longstanding partnership in vehicle computing platforms. The expanded scope aims to accelerate the development of intelligent, connected, and highly automated vehicle technologies for global automotive markets.

The collaboration addresses the increasing demand for software-defined vehicles that offer enhanced safety, personalization, and performance. By combining Bosch’s system integration capabilities with Qualcomm Technologies’ high-performance computing platforms, the partnership seeks to deliver scalable solutions that support the next generation of automotive innovation.

A key milestone in the partnership is the successful deployment of over 10 million vehicle computers globally, powered by Snapdragon Cockpit Platforms. These systems have enabled automakers to deliver advanced digital cockpit experiences, including high-resolution displays, multimedia integration, and AI-powered voice interaction, across a wide range of vehicle segments.

Building on this success, the companies are now focusing on the development of production-ready ADAS platforms. These solutions leverage Qualcomm’s Snapdragon Ride technology alongside Bosch’s modular integration platform, enabling automakers to deploy safety-critical functions such as lane keeping, adaptive cruise control, and automated parking with enhanced efficiency and reliability.

The collaboration emphasizes a shift toward centralized computing architectures, where multiple vehicle functions can be consolidated onto a smaller number of high-performance systems. This approach reduces system complexity, lowers power consumption, and enables greater flexibility for manufacturers to scale features across different vehicle models.

Advanced ADAS platforms developed through this partnership incorporate high-bandwidth processing, robust memory management, and sensor fusion capabilities to create a comprehensive 360-degree view of the vehicle’s surroundings. These systems are designed to meet stringent safety standards while supporting dynamic vehicle behavior and real-time decision-making.

The expanded collaboration also includes the development of combined cockpit and ADAS platforms using Snapdragon Ride Flex system-on-chip technology. This enables integration of infotainment and safety functions on a single platform, offering cost optimization and improved system efficiency.

The joint effort has already resulted in multiple design wins in the East Asian automotive market, with production vehicles expected to reach the road by 2028. These developments provide manufacturers with a clear pathway toward centralized computing architectures and scalable automated driving capabilities.
