BorgWarner Inc, a global provider of advanced mobility solutions, has secured three new electric motor (eMotor) business awards with leading automotive manufacturers in China and South Korea. These contracts reinforce the company’s growing presence in electrified vehicle technologies across key Asian markets and highlight continued demand for its high-efficiency motor innovations.

The newly awarded programs span both battery electric vehicles (BEVs) and hybrid applications, with production scheduled to roll out in phases between June 2026 and September 2027. The developments underscore BorgWarner’s expanding role in supporting automakers’ transition toward cleaner and more efficient mobility systems.

“These new agreements demonstrate the trust our customers place in our engineering strength, localized production capabilities, and ability to deliver scalable, high-performance motor solutions,” said Dr Stefan Demmerle, Vice President of BorgWarner Inc and President and General Manager, PowerDrive Systems. “Our proprietary S-winding technology is designed to maximize efficiency and power density within compact architectures, making it highly suitable for next-generation hybrid and electric vehicles.”

In South Korea, BorgWarner has been selected to supply stator assemblies for a new electric B-segment SUV. This award builds on the company’s previous collaboration with the same manufacturer, where its hairpin motor technology was successfully deployed in a multi-purpose vehicle platform. Production for the new SUV program is expected to begin in September 2027.

In China, BorgWarner will deliver its patented S-winding technology for a P2 electric motor used in plug-in hybrid platforms. The motor is engineered to integrate seamlessly with 1.5-liter and 2.0-liter turbocharged engines, offering strong power output and compact packaging. Production is slated to commence in February 2027, further extending the reach of this technology into global vehicle programs.

Additionally, the company has secured a contract in China to supply generator motors for a three-speed hybrid transmission system. These motors incorporate ultra-short hairpin winding technology, enhancing efficiency, durability, and space optimization. Production for this program is scheduled to begin in June 2026, supporting both domestic and export-oriented hybrid vehicles.
