Bharat Forge Posts Lower Profit and Revenue in Q4 and FY25

Bharat Forge, the Pune-based engineering firm, reported a drop in standalone net profit and revenue for the fourth quarter and full year of FY25. Net profit for Q4FY25 fell to ₹345.5 crore, down 11.3% from ₹389.7 crore in Q4FY24. Revenue declined by 7.1%, reaching ₹2,163 crore compared to ₹2,328.6 crore in the same quarter last year. For the full fiscal year, net profit dropped by 7.2% to ₹1,322.2 crore, down from ₹1,424.9 crore in FY24. Annual revenue saw a marginal decline of 1.4%, coming in at ₹8,843.8 crore compared to ₹8,968.7 crore the previous year.

Chairman and Managing Director BN Kalyani stated that Q4 standalone revenue was ₹2,163 crore with EBITDA at ₹629 crore, translating to a margin of 29.1%. Profit before tax stood at ₹494 crore. For the full year, revenue slightly decreased to ₹8,844 crore. EBITDA reached ₹2,524 crore with a margin of 28.5%, and PBT was ₹1,972 crore. The company maintained a strong balance sheet with cash reserves of ₹2,623 crore.

On a consolidated basis, revenue remained stable at ₹15,123 crore, slightly lower than ₹15,682 crore in FY24. EBITDA margin improved from 16.4% to 18.2%. During the quarter, Bharat Forge secured orders worth ₹4,343 crore, including ₹3,417 crore related to the ATAGS project. The defence order book stood at ₹9,420 crore as of March 2025. Total new orders for the year amounted to ₹6,959 crore, with defence contributing 70%.

The company did not provide guidance for FY26 exports, citing uncertainty from tariff-related disruptions. Strategic focus areas include minimizing losses in the E-Mobility segment, reassessing the European steel operations, enhancing aluminum business performance, and leveraging North American facilities for new business. Growth is also targeted in traditional forgings, defence, aerospace, and castings. Integration of AAM India is planned for FY26 to expand the company’s domestic product range and presence.
