Bajel Projects Limited has secured transmission projects worth over ₹400 crore in Egypt, marking a significant milestone in the company’s international expansion. The combined order falls under the ultra-mega category and is part of Egypt’s flagship national grid reinforcement programme aimed at strengthening the country’s high-voltage transmission network and supporting its growing power demand.

The projects involve the development of a 500 kV transmission corridor, a critical component of Egypt’s efforts to modernize its electricity infrastructure. The upgraded transmission network will improve power evacuation, enhance grid reliability and support the country’s expanding industrial, commercial and economic activities.

The latest win further strengthens Bajel Projects’ presence in the Middle East and North Africa (MENA) region, where the company has been steadily expanding its operations. The order highlights the company’s expertise in delivering complex high-voltage transmission infrastructure and reinforces its position as a trusted engineering, procurement and construction (EPC) partner in international markets.

Commenting on the achievement, Rajesh Ganesh, Managing Director and Chief Executive Officer of Bajel Projects Limited, said the award represents an important milestone in the company’s global growth journey. He noted that being selected to execute a major 500 kV transmission project reflects the confidence international customers have in Bajel’s engineering capabilities, project execution standards and ability to deliver critical infrastructure projects on schedule. He added that the order significantly strengthens Bajel Projects’ footprint in the MENA region and supports the company’s strategy of expanding its presence in key international markets.

The Egypt projects add to Bajel Projects’ growing domestic and overseas order book and build on its recent expansion initiatives across the Middle East. The company has already established a 50:50 joint venture with the Al Sharif Group in the Kingdom of Saudi Arabia to pursue transmission and distribution opportunities. It has also launched a wholly owned subsidiary in Abu Dhabi, UAE, named Bajel T&D Projects and Contracting, to strengthen its regional presence and serve customers across the Gulf.

The signing ceremony was attended by HE Suresh K Reddy, Ambassador of India to Egypt, reflecting the growing economic cooperation between India and Egypt. His presence underscored the strengthening bilateral relationship and the increasing contribution of Indian engineering and infrastructure companies to major power sector projects in the region.

Egypt has been investing heavily in expanding and modernizing its electricity transmission network to meet rising demand, improve grid stability and support future renewable energy integration. The new transmission corridor will play an important role in enhancing the country’s high-voltage backbone and ensuring reliable electricity supply for industries, businesses and households.

For Bajel Projects, the latest contract represents another step in building a strong international portfolio while maintaining momentum in the domestic market. The company continues to focus on delivering high-quality transmission and distribution projects across India and overseas through advanced engineering, efficient project execution and strong customer partnerships.

Bajel Projects Limited operates across the power transmission and distribution value chain, offering end-to-end infrastructure solutions. The company originated from the EPC division of Bajaj Electricals Limited and continues to uphold the legacy and operational principles developed over more than two decades.

Backed by the Bajaj Group, Bajel is recognized for its disciplined project management approach and consistent focus on operational efficiency. With a growing portfolio of domestic and international projects, Bajel Projects continues to position itself as a preferred partner for utilities, government bodies, and private sector clients seeking dependable power infrastructure solutions.
