AUMOVIO and BMW Group have entered into a long-term supply and development agreement with a planned order volume of more than €1 billion, expanding their technology partnership in advanced braking systems and automotive electronics. The agreement covers a range of series-production programmes for future vehicle platforms, including AUMOVIO’s integrated brake system MK C2, brake calipers and electronic control systems. The partnership is expected to strengthen AUMOVIO’s position as a technology supplier to BMW Group while supporting the automaker’s development of next-generation vehicle platforms.
“The agreement with the BMW Group is an important step for us to strengthen our business relationship. It demonstrates confidence in our innovative brake technology and at the same time motivates us to further advance the partnership between our companies and jointly shape the future of mobility,” said Philipp von Hirschheydt, CEO of AUMOVIO.
A key element of the agreement is the continued supply of the MK C2 integrated brake system. AUMOVIO and BMW Group have agreed to extend series deliveries of the system through the mid-2030s. The MK C2 combines the master cylinder, brake booster and electronic control functions, including anti-lock braking and electronic stability control, in a compact single module. Its design is aimed at supporting the changing requirements of modern vehicle architectures, including faster brake-pressure build-up, more efficient regenerative braking and functions required for highly automated driving.
The agreement also includes additional brake components and electronic control solutions that will be deployed across future BMW vehicle platforms. The wider scope of the partnership reflects the increasing role of integrated electronics and braking technologies in improving vehicle safety, efficiency and driving performance.
AUMOVIO said the agreement will provide a longer-term framework for joint development and series production, while allowing both companies to build on their existing technology cooperation. As part of the overall agreement, AUMOVIO and BMW Group will also settle pending legal proceedings related to an integrated brake system previously supplied to BMW Group by AUMOVIO when its automotive business operated as part of Continental’s Automotive group sector.
Under the settlement, AUMOVIO will make payments totaling €350 million to resolve the outstanding proceedings. The new agreement marks a significant expansion of the relationship between the two companies and provides AUMOVIO with additional business visibility through the mid-2030s. It also reinforces the company’s focus on advanced braking and electronic technologies as vehicle manufacturers increasingly adopt electrification, software-based functions and automated driving systems.
AUMOVIO was established as an independent entity in September 2025 following its spin-off from Continental AG’s former Automotive group sector. The company offers a comprehensive portfolio spanning sensor technologies, displays, braking systems, comfort solutions, and advanced driver assistance systems for software-defined vehicles.
Headquartered in Frankfurt am Main, AUMOVIO employs around 82,000 people across more than 80 global locations. In fiscal year 2025, the company reported revenues of €18.5 billion, reflecting its strong position in the global mobility technology landscape. With its latest milestone and ongoing investments in advanced safety systems, AUMOVIO India is well-positioned to support the evolving needs of the automotive industry while contributing to safer and more connected mobility solutions.
