Ashok Leyland, the flagship of the Hinduja Group and one of India’s leading commercial vehicle manufacturers, today announced the launch of Twin Fuel variants of its popular Light Commercial Vehicles (LCVs) — DOST and DOST+ XL. This launch reinforces the company’s commitment to sustainable, customer-centric mobility solutions in the LCV segment.
The vehicles were unveiled by Amandeep Singh, President – LCV, IO, Defence & Power Solutions, in the presence of Viplav Shah, Head – LCV Business. The newly introduced Twin Fuel models feature advanced technology enabling seamless switching between Compressed Natural Gas (CNG) and petrol. This dual-fuel capability addresses range anxiety among CNG users by ensuring uninterrupted journeys even when CNG refueling infrastructure is unavailable.
Speaking at the launch, Amandeep Singh said, “The Twin Fuel DOST and DOST+ XL mark a significant step in our journey toward sustainable and customer-focused innovation. These vehicles allow operators to run on cleaner CNG while retaining petrol as a backup, delivering lower operating costs and reduced emissions.”
Viplav Shah added, “The DOST range is trusted by hundreds of thousands of small businesses. With Twin Fuel technology, we are enhancing operational flexibility, improving efficiency, and enabling longer travel ranges while reducing carbon footprint. This innovation will strongly resonate with entrepreneurs and fleet operators across India.”
The Twin Fuel DOST offers a payload capacity of 1218 kg and a driving range of up to 400 km, supported by a 120-litre CNG tank and a 5-litre petrol tank. The DOST+ XL delivers a higher payload capacity of 1410 kg, with a 148-litre CNG tank and a 5-litre petrol tank, enabling a range of up to 500 km.
Designed for urban and semi-urban logistics, last-mile delivery, and small enterprises, these vehicles combine performance with sustainability and operational efficiency. With this launch, Ashok Leyland continues to strengthen its leadership in the LCV segment by delivering future-ready mobility solutions.
