Aroma Solar, the renewable energy division of Aroma Agrotech Pvt Ltd, has commenced operations at its 1.2 GW solar module manufacturing facility in Karnal. The new plant introduces North India’s first fully automated, artificial intelligence-driven production line based on advanced TOPCon technology.

The facility has begun manufacturing high-efficiency TOPCon modules in the 620–635 W range, delivering efficiencies of up to 23.51%. With a focus on precision-led manufacturing, the plant integrates end-to-end robotic automation and AI-enabled quality control systems to ensure uniformity and long-term performance of solar modules.

Unlike conventional manufacturing approaches that prioritize output scale, Aroma Solar has structured its production process around consistency and durability. Critical stages such as cell placement and lamination—where latent defects often originate—are monitored using AI-powered verification systems, minimizing variability and enhancing reliability over the lifecycle of the modules.

Commenting on the launch, Mayank Garg, CEO of Aroma Solar, emphasized that the Indian solar industry is transitioning toward a quality-centric phase. He noted that the company has deployed advanced manufacturing equipment sourced globally and relies exclusively on Tier-1 raw materials. He further highlighted the importance of combining machine precision with human oversight to maintain consistent production standards.

The modules are designed to meet the requirements of utility-scale and commercial solar projects across India, offering both bankability and high performance. The facility is expected to play a key role in supporting India’s expanding renewable energy capacity and reducing dependence on imports.

Looking ahead, Aroma Solar is preparing for the next phase of expansion with a focus on strengthening backward integration. The company is evaluating opportunities to enter solar cell and wafer manufacturing, aiming to enhance supply chain control and align with India’s vision of achieving self-reliance in renewable energy manufacturing.

Headquartered in Karnal, Aroma Solar operates as a subsidiary of Aroma Agrotech Pvt Ltd, a Government-recognized Four-Star Export House. In addition to module manufacturing, the company has expanded into engineering, procurement, and construction (EPC) services as well as independent power production (IPP), delivering clean energy solutions for commercial and utility-scale applications.
