Aptiv PLC (NYSE: APTV), a global industrial technology company, has entered into a strategic collaboration with Vecna Robotics, an innovator in AI-powered autonomous material handling systems, to jointly develop next-generation Autonomous Mobile Robots (AMRs). The collaboration aims to deliver scalable, safe, and cost-effective automation solutions for warehouses and manufacturing facilities.
The partnership brings together Aptiv’s expertise in perception, sensing, compute, and embedded software with Vecna Robotics’ autonomy and workflow orchestration capabilities. The combined solution is designed to improve material movement efficiency, enhance workplace safety, and support flexible deployment across complex industrial environments.
Commenting on the collaboration, Javed Khan, Executive Vice President, Intelligent Systems, Aptiv, said that automation is rapidly reshaping logistics and manufacturing. He noted that integrating Aptiv’s sensing and software technologies with Vecna Robotics’ autonomous material handling experience will enable smarter and more accessible automation solutions that help customers address evolving operational demands.
As part of the joint development, Aptiv’s perception systems and machine learning technologies will be embedded into Vecna Robotics’ platform to support dependable, large-scale automation. Key elements of the solution include Aptiv’s compact PULSE™ Sensor, which combines surround-view camera technology with ultrashort-range radar for accurate 360-degree awareness, and advanced radar-based and behavioral machine learning models that enable real-time perception and dynamic path planning.
The solution also incorporates Vecna Robotics’ autonomy and orchestration platform, which is designed to operate safely in environments shared by people, forklifts, and other automated systems. Its CaseFlow™ integration coordinates workflows across different assets, allowing facilities to improve throughput without disrupting existing operations. Aptiv’s embedded software and high-performance compute platform—built on VxWorks real-time operating system and Wind River® Helix™ Virtualization Platform—provides low-latency performance, flexibility, and support for diverse system architectures.
Vecna Robotics’ AMRs are designed to adapt to constantly changing warehouse and factory conditions. Powered by AI-driven autonomy and the Pivotal™ orchestration platform, the company’s solutions help organizations optimize material flow in real time while avoiding the need for fixed or costly infrastructure.
Karl Iagnemma, CEO, Vecna Robotics, said the collaboration will strengthen the company’s ability to deliver durable, cost-optimized robotic systems. He added that combining Vecna’s autonomy and orchestration software with Aptiv’s perception and compute technologies will help customers lower operating costs, improve productivity, and achieve faster returns on automation investments.
Together, Aptiv and Vecna Robotics aim to advance autonomous material handling by delivering intelligent, scalable solutions that meet the needs of modern industrial operations. Aptiv will showcase Vecna Robotics’ CPJ Co-Bot Pallet Jack at its pavilion during CES 2026.
Aptiv is a global industrial technology company focused on enabling safer, greener, and more connected mobility and industrial systems through advanced automation, electrification, and digital technologies. Vecna Robotics provides flexible autonomous material handling solutions supported by its Pivotal™ software platform, helping customers increase throughput, reduce labor strain, and achieve rapid returns without relying on fixed infrastructure.
