Zydus Lifesciences Limited, an innovation-focused life sciences company with a global presence, has signed an exclusive agreement with US-based Myriad Genetics to introduce a portfolio of advanced cancer-risk assessment and prognostic diagnostic tests in India. Under the agreement, Zydus will make Myriad’s MyRisk® Hereditary Cancer Test, MyChoice® HRD Plus Test, and Prolaris® Prostate Cancer Prognostic Test available to patients, clinicians, and healthcare institutions across the country. These tests are designed to support personalised, evidence-based cancer care by providing actionable insights into hereditary risk, disease progression, and treatment planning.

With cancer incidence rising worldwide, early identification of inherited risk plays a critical role in prevention and proactive health management. The MyRisk® test helps individuals and families understand genetic cancer risk, enabling informed lifestyle choices and monitoring. For patients with prostate and ovarian cancers, the Prolaris® and MyChoice® HRD Plus tests provide clinically validated insights that can guide treatment selection and predict disease progression.

Speaking on the development, Dr Sharvil P Patel, Managing Director, Zydus Lifesciences, said the partnership represents a significant step toward improving access to precision diagnostics in India. He noted that these tests offer clinicians valuable tools to personalise treatment strategies, assess disease aggressiveness, and streamline clinical decision-making, ultimately helping patients achieve better outcomes.

Dr Patel further added that the collaboration reflects Zydus’ continued focus on patient-centric care and precision oncology. By strengthening diagnostic infrastructure and clinician education, the partnership aims to support earlier and more accurate cancer risk assessment, enabling patients to make informed decisions with greater confidence.

Brian Donnelly, Chief Commercial Officer, Myriad Genetics, said the collaboration with Zydus will help expand the reach of precision oncology solutions across India. He emphasized that Myriad’s tests are designed to equip clinicians with clear, actionable insights into genetic risk and tumour biology, supporting personalised care and informed treatment decisions. With prostate cancer cases increasing in India, the Prolaris® test offers a clinically proven method to assess disease aggressiveness, estimate long-term risk, and guide treatment choices, including the urgency of intervention and long-term management strategies.
