Oben Electric, a homegrown electric motorcycle manufacturer built on strong in-house R&D capabilities, has successfully raised ₹85 crore in its Pre-Series B funding round. The round attracted participation from prominent Indian-American family offices, including Raj K Soin, Musa Dakri, and Ramesh Bhutada, along with continued backing from existing investors. The investment reflects growing confidence in Oben Electric’s technology-driven approach, disciplined execution, and strong market acceptance, evidenced by a tenfold increase in revenue over the past year.
The capital infusion comes at a critical phase of growth as the company prepares to cross ₹100 crore in revenue in FY26 and reach cost-of-goods-sold break-even by March 2026. Oben Electric is targeting EBITDA break-even by 2027, supported by rapid network expansion plans. The company aims to operate 150 exclusive sales and service outlets by March 2026 and scale to nearly 500 locations over the next two years, driven by sustained customer demand and strong dealer interest. High-quality dealership applications and repeat investments from existing partners underline growing confidence in the brand’s profitability.
The newly raised funds will be deployed to strengthen Oben Electric’s retail footprint, expand brand visibility, and accelerate new product development and launches. The company continues to focus on deep vertical integration to improve material efficiency, optimize manufacturing costs, and scale production sustainably. In 2025, Oben Electric expanded into digital retail channels by listing its motorcycles on Amazon and Flipkart, significantly enhancing customer reach. Today, the company operates more than 85 showrooms across 70 cities in over 18 states.
Founder and CEO Madhumita Agrawal said the funding validates the company’s capital discipline and growth roadmap, adding that the milestone provides strong visibility toward achieving operational profitability while building a category-defining electric motorcycle brand from India. With this round, Oben Electric’s total funding stands at ₹285 crore, and the company is actively engaging with investors for its upcoming Series B round.
Founded in 2020, Oben Electric develops and manufactures high-performance electric motorcycles and components entirely in India. With a 3.5-acre facility in Bengaluru and an annual production capacity of 100,000 units, the company is backed by a team with over 25 years of EV expertise. Oben holds more than 25 patents and continues to lead innovation in India’s EV two-wheeler segment with its “Design in India for the World” mission.
