AMPO has opened a new valve manufacturing and service facility in Atyrau, Kazakhstan, operating as AMPO Kazakhstan, to provide local manufacturing, maintenance and technical support to customers in the country and the wider Caspian region. The 2,600-square-metre facility includes machining, assembly and testing capabilities for valve manufacturing and repair, along with production of spare parts. The plant also has a dedicated training centre aimed at developing local technical skills and supporting customers through technical training programmes.

AMPO Kazakhstan will progressively increase its production capabilities based on customer requirements. The facility currently manufactures ball, gate, globe, check, hypercentric ball and dilating disk control valves, among other valve types. A dedicated team of field engineers based at the facility will provide technical support covering equipment start-up and commissioning, valve selection, engineered solutions, preventive and predictive maintenance, troubleshooting and training.

Iban Ferreira, Chairman of AMPO Group, said the new facility marks a new phase in the company’s relationship with Kazakhstan and its customers and partners across the Caspian region. “Opening this facility is not simply about opening a new building. It is about starting a new chapter in our relationship with Kazakhstan and with our valued customers and partners across the Caspian region,” Mr Ferreira said.

He added, “Kazakhstan is a strategic energy market and plays an increasingly important role in the global energy landscape. For AMPO, being present here is an important step in our international development and, above all, a long-term commitment to our customers.”

Massimo Bindini, General Manager of AMPO Kazakhstan, said the local presence would allow the company to respond more quickly to customer requirements while building technical capabilities in Kazakhstan. “Being here, close to our customers, allows us to better understand their needs and respond with greater agility. We are bringing AMPO’s international experience to Kazakhstan while, at the same time, building strong local capabilities,” Mr Bindini said.

The company plans to focus particularly on critical valve maintenance services for energy and industrial projects in Kazakhstan and across the Caspian region. The facility is intended to strengthen AMPO’s ability to provide manufacturing, repair and service support locally, reducing response times and enabling customers to access technical expertise closer to their operations.

The Atyrau plant also provides a base for developing local talent through its training centre. AMPO said the combination of manufacturing, service and training capabilities will support the gradual expansion of its operations in the region. With the new facility, AMPO is strengthening its local presence in Kazakhstan while expanding its manufacturing and maintenance support for critical valve applications across the Caspian market.
