AMPO POYAM VALVES has been awarded a significant contract to supply 180 large-sized gate valves, including advanced cryogenic service valves, for Aramco’s Riyas Natural Gas Liquids (NGL) Fractionation Trains Project in Saudi Arabia. The order further strengthens the company’s position as a trusted supplier of engineered valve solutions for complex energy infrastructure projects.

The contract forms part of the second phase of the Jafurah unconventional gas field development, regarded as the largest unconventional gas field project in the Middle East. The Riyas NGL Fractionation Facility, currently under construction in Jubail, will play a key role in processing natural gas liquids produced from the Jafurah field, supporting Saudi Arabia’s long-term strategy to expand natural gas production and downstream processing capacity.

Under the engineering, procurement and construction (EPC) contract awarded to Técnicas Reunidas, AMPO POYAM VALVES will supply 148 cryogenic service gate valves in sizes of up to 64 inches with pressure ratings of 600 lbs, in addition to large-sized gate valves for general service reaching up to 68 inches and 600 lbs pressure class. The project involves highly demanding operating conditions, combining extremely large valve diameters with cryogenic applications that require exceptional engineering precision, material performance and operational reliability. The valves will be installed in critical process units designed to handle low-temperature hydrocarbon streams while ensuring safe and efficient plant operations.

Once operational, the Riyas NGL Fractionation Facility will process natural gas liquids received from the Jafurah field through two parallel fractionation trains, each with a processing capacity of 255,000 barrels per day. The facility will incorporate fractionation, treatment, dehydration and refrigeration units to separate and produce valuable hydrocarbon products, including ethane, propane, butane and pentane, supporting both domestic demand and export opportunities.

The contract represents one of the most technically demanding assignments undertaken by AMPO POYAM VALVES, reflecting the company’s expertise in manufacturing large-diameter valves capable of operating under extreme cryogenic conditions. Its proven performance in delivering specialized valve solutions for complex energy projects was a key factor in the selection process conducted by Técnicas Reunidas and Aramco.

The award further reinforces AMPO POYAM VALVES’ reputation in the global oil and gas industry, where demand continues to grow for high-performance valve technologies capable of supporting large-scale liquefied gas, petrochemical and energy infrastructure developments. The company has built extensive experience in supplying engineered valve solutions for critical applications requiring stringent quality standards, operational safety and long-term reliability.

By participating in the Riyas NGL Fractionation Trains Project, AMPO POYAM VALVES continues to expand its presence in strategic energy markets while contributing to one of Saudi Arabia’s most significant natural gas investments. The project also highlights the increasing importance of advanced valve technologies in enabling efficient and reliable processing of natural gas liquids as global energy producers invest in modern, high-capacity infrastructure to meet rising demand.
