Agileo Automation has announced the release of Agil’EDA, a new software solution developed to help semiconductor equipment manufacturers meet increasing demands for advanced data connectivity. The launch responds to growing expectations from leading semiconductor fabs and advanced packaging facilities, where high-speed data access and integration have become essential to modern production environments.
As semiconductor manufacturing becomes more automated and reliant on real-time analytics, equipment providers are being asked to deliver Equipment Data Acquisition (EDA/Interface A) capabilities alongside established SECS/GEM communication standards. Agil’EDA addresses this need by separating equipment control processes from data acquisition functions. This architecture allows continuous, structured data collection at high frequency without affecting the stability or performance of critical machine operations.
Built with long-term deployment in mind, Agil’EDA fully supports the current EDA Freeze 2 standard based on SOAP/XML. At the same time, it has been designed to accommodate the upcoming Freeze 3 specification, which introduces gRPC and protocol buffers to significantly improve throughput and reduce latency. Agileo Automation has already validated its Freeze 3 implementation through successful testing during SEMI standards meetings held in late 2024, positioning the solution for future industry requirements expected to take shape in 2026.
Security has been a central consideration in the development of Agil’EDA. The software incorporates encrypted communications and authentication mechanisms to safeguard sensitive manufacturing data. It can be deployed as a standalone module within existing equipment software environments or integrated into Agileo’s A²ECF-SEMI framework, offering flexibility for different implementation strategies.
When combined with Agileo’s existing connectivity products, including Agil’GEM and Agil’GEM300, the new solution forms a unified platform that simplifies compliance with semiconductor communication standards. This integrated approach enables equipment manufacturers to accelerate development timelines and reduce the complexity associated with adopting new connectivity requirements.
According to Agileo Automation leadership, the focus behind Agil’EDA is to provide a practical pathway for manufacturers transitioning toward more data-intensive operations. By incorporating forward-looking architecture aligned with emerging standards, the company aims to help its customers remain competitive while preparing for the next phase of semiconductor manufacturing evolution. Agileo Automation continues to support equipment manufacturers worldwide with software and expertise designed to improve automation, connectivity, and overall system performance across semiconductor production environments.
