Aerolloy Technologies Limited, a wholly owned subsidiary of PTC Industries Limited (NSE: PTCIL; BSE: 539006), has been selected by Safran Aircraft Engines to develop and manufacture critical titanium cast components for the LEAP engine programme. The components will be supplied fully machined and ready to fit, marking a further expansion of the relationship between the two companies.
This is the second set of orders received by Aerolloy Technologies from Safran Aircraft Engines for titanium castings under the LEAP programme. The companies have also signed a Memorandum of Understanding (MoU) establishing a framework for long-term production supply following successful development and qualification of the components.
The LEAP engine is used in the Airbus A320neo, Boeing 737 MAX and COMAC C919 aircraft families. The programme requires components manufactured to demanding standards of quality, reliability and repeatability. Under the agreement, Aerolloy Technologies will manufacture complex structural titanium castings and supply them in a fully machined, ready-to-fit condition. Production will be carried out through PTC ONE™ – From Melt to Mission™, PTC Industries’ integrated manufacturing system for converting advanced aerospace materials into critical components.
The manufacturing process will bring together titanium material capabilities, precision investment casting, hot isostatic pressing (HIP), vacuum heat treatment, special processes, precision machining, assembly and inspection within a single manufacturing organisation.
This integrated approach is designed to provide process continuity, quality control and product traceability throughout manufacturing. It is also intended to strengthen supply-chain reliability for aerospace programmes that require consistent performance and close control over production processes.
Sachin Agarwal, Chairman and Managing Director of PTC Industries Limited, said, “We are grateful to Safran Aircraft Engines for the trust placed in Aerolloy Technologies and PTC Industries through this important programme. Being selected for critical Titanium components for the LEAP engine is a strong validation of the integrated aerospace manufacturing capability that we have been building over several years. The significance of this programme lies in the depth of responsibility—from Titanium material capability to precision casting, special processes, machining, assembly and inspection—with components supplied in a fully machined, ready-to-fit condition.”
The order builds on Aerolloy Technologies’ existing work with Safran Aircraft Engines and expands its participation in a major global commercial aviation programme. The MoU also provides a framework for a longer-term production relationship, subject to successful development and qualification.
PTC Industries has more than six decades of experience in advanced manufacturing for critical and super-critical engineering applications. Through Aerolloy Technologies and its global manufacturing operations, the group is developing capabilities in titanium and superalloy materials, precision castings and machined components for aerospace, defence, space and energy markets.
