Aerolloy Technologies Limited, a wholly owned subsidiary of PTC Industries Limited, has announced that it has received a development and supply order from Blue Origin for the manufacture of large superalloy investment castings used in the BE-4 rocket engines powering the first stage of the New Glenn launch vehicle.

The order follows an extended technical, qualification, and regulatory review process, including compliance with applicable international export control regulations. The BE-4 propulsion system is considered mission-critical, with strict performance, safety, and reliability requirements.

Under this program, Aerolloy will manufacture large nickel-based superalloy housings and manifolds for liquid oxygen (LOX) high-pressure and low-pressure systems. These components operate under extreme thermal, chemical, and pressure conditions and require high levels of dimensional accuracy, complex internal geometries, and consistent metallurgical quality. The production of such components is limited to a small number of specialized foundries globally.

A key capability supporting this order is Aerolloy’s recently commissioned Vacuum Induction Melting (VIM) furnace, which enables controlled melting and processing of large superalloy heats under vacuum conditions. This facility provides the metallurgical foundation required for producing large, high-integrity investment castings used in advanced propulsion systems.

New Glenn is Blue Origin’s reusable heavy-lift orbital launch vehicle, which successfully reached orbit during its inaugural flight in January 2025. The vehicle’s first stage is powered by seven BE-4 engines, each delivering approximately 550,000 pounds of thrust. The superalloy components supplied by Aerolloy are critical to engine performance, operational safety, and reusability.

By engaging Aerolloy, Blue Origin gains access to an integrated manufacturing partner capable of supporting production scale-up and long-term program requirements. The order establishes Aerolloy as a qualified supplier of propulsion hardware for orbital-class launch systems, extending its role beyond aerospace and defence applications.

Commenting on the development, Sachin Agarwal, Chairman and Managing Director, PTC Industries Limited, said that the selection reflects Aerolloy’s technical capabilities and validates its investments in advanced melting, casting, and quality-control infrastructure.

PTC Industries stated that the program strengthens India’s position in high-value space manufacturing, contributes to export-oriented advanced manufacturing, and supports the country’s integration into global space supply chains. PTC Industries supplies strategic materials and precision components to several Indian aerospace and defence organisations, including Hindustan Aeronautics Limited, the Defence Research and Development Organisation, and BrahMos Aerospace. The company also exports Titanium and Superalloy castings and materials to international aerospace and defence manufacturers such as Safran, Dassault Aviation, BAE Systems, and Israel Aerospace Industries.

With more than sixty years of manufacturing experience, PTC Industries operates through its wholly owned subsidiary, Aerolloy Technologies Limited, which focuses on Titanium and Superalloy materials for aerospace and defence applications. The group is currently investing in an integrated manufacturing facility at the Lucknow node of the Uttar Pradesh Defence Industrial Corridor. The facility will include a Titanium and Superalloy mill producing aerospace-grade ingots, billets, bars, plates, and sheets, along with a precision casting unit, creating an end-to-end manufacturing platform for strategic materials in India.
