Aequs has signed long-term supply agreements with Safran for the manufacture of critical aerospace components, expanding a relationship that has developed over more than a decade. The agreements will support Safran’s production programmes and strengthen Aequs’ position in global aerospace supply chains.

The new contracts build on Aequs’ existing relationship with Safran Landing Systems and extend the collaboration to Safran Aerosystems. The work covers the machining of superalloy parts, complex machining and coating, and the assembly of landing gear components for the Airbus A320, A330 and A350 families, as well as the Boeing 787 programme.

Aequs will use its integrated aerospace manufacturing facilities and end-to-end production capabilities to manufacture the components. These capabilities include forging, precision machining, special processes, surface treatment and assembly. The company’s Belagavi Aerospace Cluster in Karnataka will serve as a key manufacturing base for the agreements.

The company also plans to expand its aerospace manufacturing capabilities through the upcoming Aequs Engine Components Ecosystem (AECE) in Hosur, Tamil Nadu. The facility is intended to support the manufacture of medium and large engine components.

Aravind Melligeri, Executive Chairman and CEO of Aequs, said the agreements reflected the company’s focus on long-term partnerships built around manufacturing capability, reliability and scale. He said the components involved required specialised engineering and production capabilities, and the contracts demonstrated Safran’s confidence in Aequs’ manufacturing operations.

The announcement follows an agreement signed by Aequs and Safran Landing Systems in July 2026 for the supply of fully assembled wheels for the Airbus A320 family. That contract extends through 2042 and represents Aequs’ first serial production agreement with a duration exceeding 15 years. Under the wheel programme, the components will be manufactured entirely in India, from aluminium sourcing through final assembly and testing. The project is designed to achieve full domestic manufacturing value addition.

The latest agreements broaden the scope of cooperation between the two companies and add to Aequs’ role in supplying components for commercial aircraft programmes. They also build on the company’s experience in manufacturing precision parts for global aerospace manufacturers and system integrators.

Aequs operates an integrated precision manufacturing ecosystem in India, with co-located capabilities that cover multiple stages of production. Its aerospace portfolio includes components for aircraft engines, structures, actuation systems and landing systems, as well as assemblies. The company supplies global aerospace businesses including Airbus, Boeing, Safran and Collins Aerospace.

In addition to aerospace, Aequs has manufacturing operations in consumer electronics, plastics and durable goods. Its manufacturing clusters in Belagavi, Hubballi and Koppal in Karnataka are supported by operations in the United States and France. The new agreements are expected to strengthen Aequs’ participation in long-term aerospace programmes and support the expansion of India’s precision manufacturing capabilities for international customers.

Aequs Limited is an engineering-led precision manufacturing company operating across aerospace and consumer products. Its integrated facilities support forging, precision machining, surface treatment, assembly and other manufacturing processes for complex components supplied to global customers.
