ACME Solar Holdings Limited has announced the appointment of Ayalur S Kumar as its Chief Procurement and Supply Chain Officer, further strengthening the company’s senior leadership as it advances toward its long-term growth objective of achieving 10 GW of contracted and operational renewable energy capacity by 2030.
Mr Kumar brings close to three decades of experience in procurement, supply chain management, operations, and logistics across sectors including renewable energy, electric vehicle infrastructure, biorefineries, and conventional power. He has spent over 15 years in senior leadership positions, where he played a key role in building and scaling procurement functions, managing complex global supply networks, and delivering cost-efficient sourcing strategies aligned with sustainability goals.
Throughout his career, Mr Kumar has demonstrated expertise in supplier relationship management, sustainability audits, and the development of supply chains that balance global standards with local execution. His experience includes sourcing high-technology components, optimizing project insurance structures, and supporting technology transfer initiatives across geographies. He has led cross-functional and multicultural teams while driving operational efficiencies in large-scale infrastructure projects.
Prior to joining ACME Solar, Mr Kumar held leadership roles at several multinational organizations, including Fortum, Skoda Power, ABB, and Alstom. He holds a Bachelor’s degree in Mechanical Engineering and an MBA in International Business from the Indian Institute of Foreign Trade, New Delhi, providing a strong technical and commercial foundation for his new role.
Commenting on the appointment, ACME Solar stated that Mr Kumar’s deep industry knowledge and global experience will be instrumental in strengthening the company’s procurement and supply chain capabilities as it expands its renewable energy portfolio across solar, wind, storage, and hybrid solutions.
