Freyr Energy, a leading provider of residential rooftop solar solutions in India, has announced the introduction of intelligent self-cleaning solar systems along with next-generation hybrid solar power solutions for homes. The new offerings are designed to address two persistent challenges faced by residential solar users across the country—performance loss caused by dust accumulation on panels and power interruptions due to grid outages.

Dust buildup on solar modules can reduce energy generation by as much as 30 percent when panels are not cleaned frequently. Freyr Energy’s newly introduced intelligent self-cleaning system uses sensor-driven automation and water-efficient mechanisms to keep panels clean without manual intervention. The technology maintains optimal energy output while reducing water usage by up to 90 percent compared to conventional cleaning methods. For households in regions with high dust levels, this innovation significantly lowers maintenance effort and transforms rooftop solar into a more reliable and hassle-free energy solution.

Alongside this technology, Freyr Energy has launched advanced hybrid solar systems that combine grid connectivity with battery storage. These systems ensure continuous power availability during grid failures and allow homeowners to store excess solar energy for later use. By enabling smarter energy consumption and reducing dependence on grid electricity, the hybrid solutions help households lower power bills while improving energy security.

Commenting on the launch, Saurabh Marda, Co-Founder and Managing Director of Freyr Energy, said that states such as Uttar Pradesh, Madhya Pradesh, Maharashtra, Telangana, Andhra Pradesh, and Kerala represent significant growth opportunities for residential solar adoption. He noted that the company’s intelligent self-cleaning technology directly addresses challenges created by dusty environments and changing weather patterns, while hybrid systems make solar power more dependable and financially attractive. With strong policy support, growing awareness of government incentives, and a typical payback period of three to four years, he added that the timing for residential solar adoption has never been more favourable.

Homeowners adopting solar systems can also benefit from a combination of central and state government subsidies. Uttar Pradesh offers subsidies of up to ₹1 lakh, the highest in the country, while Madhya Pradesh provides support of up to ₹78,000. In Kerala, state-backed assistance under the Soura programme complements central subsidies under the PM Surya Ghar Yojana, further reducing upfront costs and accelerating returns on investment.

Freyr Energy has established a strong presence in the Telugu states, recording the highest number of residential solar installations in the region. With over 12,500 installations and more than 120 MW of installed capacity nationwide, the company is well positioned to support India’s goal of achieving 500 GW of renewable energy capacity by 2030.

The company has seen growing demand across multiple cities in Uttar Pradesh, Madhya Pradesh, Maharashtra, Kerala, Telangana, and Andhra Pradesh, driven by rising electricity costs, concerns over dust-related efficiency losses, and comprehensive after-sales support. Through flexible financing options and a network of solar experience centres, Freyr Energy continues to make rooftop and hybrid solar adoption accessible to households across India.

Freyr Energy is a pan-India rooftop solar company offering end-to-end solutions for residential and commercial customers. Its services include system design, installation, financing assistance, and long-term maintenance, supported by a network of 10 solar experience centres across the country.
