AMPO POYAM VALVES has secured an order to supply 18 large-bore, high-pressure check and globe valves for Saudi Aramco’s CRPO 147/157 offshore trunkline project at the Zuluf field in Saudi Arabia. The order further strengthens the company’s presence in the offshore energy sector and highlights its manufacturing capabilities in specialised valve solutions for demanding operating environments.

The project involves the engineering, procurement, construction and installation (EPCI) of a 60-kilometre-long, 48-inch trunkline at the Zuluf offshore field, along with associated onshore dredging works. LAMPRELL has been appointed as the EPCI contractor for Aramco. The contract was awarded to the company’s long-term agreement (LTA) contractors as part of the ongoing development of Zuluf, one of the largest offshore oil fields in the region.

Under the order, AMPO POYAM VALVES will manufacture and supply 18 check and globe valves using carbon steel with an Inconel 625 weld overlay. The material configuration has been selected to provide the required performance and resistance under the demanding conditions associated with offshore trunkline operations.

The valve package includes three different sizes, all designed for a pressure rating of Class 1500. These comprise 30-inch, 36-inch and 48-inch valves. The 48-inch valve represents a major manufacturing milestone for AMPO POYAM VALVES, as it is the largest valve of this type ever supplied by the company. Some of the individual units weigh more than 60 tonnes.

The exceptionally large dimensions and specialised construction requirements called for extensive engineering work. The company had to develop detailed specifications for several valve components to ensure that they met the project’s technical and operational requirements.

Manufacturing and transportation also presented significant challenges due to the size and weight of the equipment. A carefully planned production and logistics programme has been put in place to ensure that all valves are delivered to the project site within the agreed schedule and in the required condition.

The order reflects AMPO POYAM VALVES’ experience in manufacturing large and technically complex industrial valves, including products made from special materials and incorporating cladding and weld-overlay technologies. The company has established capabilities in supplying engineered valve solutions for offshore energy projects, where equipment must meet demanding requirements relating to pressure, material performance, reliability and operating conditions. The Zuluf field order adds to its portfolio of major offshore projects and demonstrates its ability to handle large-scale valve manufacturing assignments involving specialised materials, complex engineering specifications and challenging delivery requirements.
