Hewlett Packard Enterprise (HPE) (NYSE: HPE) has announced the integration of HPE Networking EdgeConnect with HPE Mist and HPE Aruba Central, bringing its secure access service edge (SASE), wired networking and wireless LAN solutions into a unified operational framework. The integration advances HPE’s self-driving networking strategy, enabling enterprises to improve network visibility, simplify troubleshooting and strengthen security across distributed environments.

As organisations expand across campuses, branch offices, wide area networks and cloud platforms, delivering consistent application performance and user experiences has become increasingly complex. Network and security teams often rely on separate tools to manage these environments, limiting their ability to identify issues quickly and maintain consistent protection. The integration aims to address these challenges through a common agentic framework for network operations (NetOps) and security operations (SecOps).

“Enterprise networks have become too complex to manage through isolated tools and domains,” said David Hughes, SVP and GM, SASE and Security for Networking at HPE. “By bringing HPE Networking EdgeConnect together with HPE Mist and HPE Aruba Central, we’re combining our best AI, wired, wireless, and SASE innovations into a single operational experience that gives customers greater visibility, automated protection, faster issue resolution, and a clear path to self-driving operations.”

HPE Networking EdgeConnect combines software-defined wide area networking (SD-WAN) with security service edge (SSE) capabilities to connect employees and branch locations securely to applications. Its application-aware routing, WAN optimisation and integrated security features are designed to improve performance, resilience and protection against cyber threats.

With EdgeConnect integrated into HPE Mist and HPE Aruba Central, SASE customers can access HPE Marvis, HPE’s AI engine and assistant for self-driving networking. Capabilities include agentic automation to reduce manual intervention, user experience twinning to identify and resolve problems without requiring users to be present, and a Large Experience Model designed to anticipate and prevent application performance issues involving platforms such as Zoom and Microsoft Teams.

Existing HPE Mist and Aruba Central customers will gain access to integrated SASE capabilities, while organisations deploying the full networking portfolio can benefit from end-to-end visibility and control across the edge-to-cloud environment. Deployment options include on-premises, cloud and virtual private cloud environments.

Industry analysts highlighted the convergence of wired, wireless and SASE technologies as an important step towards more proactive enterprise networking. HPE Mist support for EdgeConnect is scheduled to become available during calendar year 2026, followed by HPE Aruba Central support in the first half of calendar year 2027.
