PMTX 2026 brought together key players from India’s machine tool and manufacturing ecosystem, creating a platform for technology companies, equipment builders and manufacturers to exchange ideas around the evolving needs of modern production. For Mobil™, the four-day exhibition in Pune was an opportunity to take its lubrication expertise closer to the machine tool industry and engage directly with the people shaping its future.
At Hall 1, Stall A141, Mobil™ brought together its portfolio of high-performance lubricants, digital tools and technical services, with conversations extending beyond individual products to the wider role of lubrication in manufacturing performance. Discussions with manufacturers and equipment builders covered areas such as tool life, machine life, surface finish quality and equipment availability, reflecting the many factors that influence productivity and operational efficiency on the shop floor.
A significant part of Mobil’s engagement at PMTX 2026 centred on its work with OEMs and machine builders. Imtiaz Ahmed, India Equipment Builder Commercialization Manager, Mobil India, shared how Mobil™ works with OEMs from the design and specification stage through technical validation and testing. By considering lubrication alongside equipment development, the approach helps ensure that lubricant recommendations are evaluated for the specific application and gives both equipment builders and end customers greater confidence in their selection.
The exhibition also saw strong interest in Mobil’s broader portfolio of products and services. Dwaipayan Gupta, Mobil India, took visitors through application-specific lubricants, digital tools and on-site technical support, highlighting how a closer understanding of an OEM’s requirements can help align lubrication solutions with equipment and operating conditions.
One of the key themes emerging from these conversations was the economics of metalworking fluids. While metalworking fluids typically account for a relatively small portion of a plant’s overall operating costs, their influence can extend to areas such as tool life, machine life, surface finish quality and equipment availability. The discussions at PMTX therefore looked beyond the purchase price of a fluid towards total cost of ownership and the longer-term value of making informed lubrication decisions.
For Mobil™, the value of PMTX 2026 extended beyond the four days of the exhibition. The event strengthened engagement with India’s machine tool community and created meaningful conversations with OEMs, equipment builders and manufacturing professionals around application requirements, technical challenges and evolving expectations from lubrication solutions.
The participation also reinforced Mobil’s broader approach to India’s manufacturing ecosystem, combining product expertise with technical support, digital capabilities and long-term collaboration. The conversations and interactions at PMTX 2026 offered valuable insight into the priorities of the industry while allowing Mobil™ to demonstrate how its wider portfolio can contribute to the performance and efficiency of modern manufacturing operations.
As India’s manufacturing landscape continues to evolve, platforms such as PMTX remain important for connecting technology providers with the people working on the ground. For Mobil™, its participation in PMTX 2026 marked another step in building those connections and taking its manufacturing conversations forward.
