Larsen & Toubro’s Construction & Mining Machinery business has entered into a partnership with FAYAT Road Equipment Division (FRED) India to market BOMAG road construction equipment in India. Under the partnership, L&T will support the marketing, sales, after-sales service and supply of spare parts for a specialised range of BOMAG equipment. The portfolio includes road milling machines, soil stabilisers and cement spreaders.
BOMAG, headquartered in Germany, is part of FAYAT’s Road Equipment Division and is known for its equipment and technologies used in road construction and infrastructure projects. FAYAT is France’s largest independent construction group and operates in more than 170 countries.
The partnership combines BOMAG’s road construction technologies with L&T’s customer network and nationwide service capabilities. The new range will complement L&T’s existing road machinery portfolio and allow the company to offer customers a wider selection of equipment for road construction, maintenance and infrastructure development.
Anil V Parab, Senior Executive Vice President and Whole-time Director – Manufacturing, L&T, said the company has a long history of introducing advanced construction equipment technologies to the Indian market. “Our Construction & Mining Machinery business has a long history of introducing advanced equipment technologies in India. In fact, we are the pioneers to introduce hydraulic excavators in India. The addition of BOMAG’s specialised road construction equipment further strengthens this legacy,” he said. He added that L&T’s nationwide service network, supported by its central warehouse in Nagpur, would provide customers with technical support and after-sales services throughout the equipment lifecycle.
FRED India Managing Director Abhijit Som said India is an important growth market for the FAYAT Group as the country continues to invest in infrastructure. “As the country advances towards realising its vision of Viksit Bharat by 2047, continued investment in infrastructure will drive demand for advanced, efficient and sustainable road construction solutions,” Mr Som said. He said the combination of BOMAG’s technology and L&T’s market reach and service infrastructure would give Indian customers access to advanced road construction equipment backed by local support.
