AnantGrid Projects One Private Limited (AGPOPL) has been declared the successful bidder for the Lakadia–Part A Inter-State Transmission Project under the Tariff Based Competitive Bidding (TBCB) route. AGPOPL received a Letter of Intent (LoI) from PFC Consulting Limited (PFCCL) after emerging as the lowest bidder following the e-reverse auction held on August 6 and 7, 2026.
The company is jointly owned by Bajel Projects Limited, which holds a 26% stake, and National Investment and Infrastructure Fund (NIIF), which owns the remaining 74%. The project is part of the planned transmission system for evacuation of power from Lakadia Phase-II, Jam Khambhaliya Phase-II and Jamnagar Phase-I. The Lakadia–Part A project will involve the construction of approximately 270 kilometres of 765 kV double-circuit transmission lines between Halvad and Vadodara in Gujarat.
The scope also includes additional works at three substations located at Halvad, Vadodara and South Olpad. The transmission infrastructure is expected to support the movement of electricity from large-scale generation projects and strengthen Gujarat’s power transmission network.
The project is being developed against the backdrop of India’s expanding renewable energy capacity. The country is targeting 500 GW of renewable energy capacity by 2030, requiring substantial investment in transmission infrastructure to connect new generation projects with demand centres. The successful bid also reflects the collaboration established between NIIF, Bajel Projects and AnantGrid. In March 2026, the three organisations entered into an agreement to jointly pursue power transmission opportunities in India through the TBCB route.
The partnership combines NIIF’s investment and asset management capabilities with AnantGrid’s project development and management expertise and Bajel Projects’ engineering, procurement and construction capabilities. The partners are expected to use these combined strengths to develop and execute transmission projects across the country.
