Rubicon Research Limited (“Rubicon”), an integrated pharmaceutical company focused on developing, manufacturing and commercializing differentiated pharmaceutical products, has announced the acquisition of its first manufacturing facility in the United States through its wholly owned subsidiary AdvaGen Holdings.

The facility, located in East Brunswick, New Jersey, has been acquired from InvaTech Pharma Solutions, LLC at an enterprise value of $2.9 million. The transaction was completed on July 21, 2026, following a court-supervised competitive bidding process under Section 363 of the US Bankruptcy Code. As part of the acquisition, Rubicon has taken over the facility lease along with associated equipment, records and site permits. The acquisition provides Rubicon with a US-based manufacturing footprint comparable in size to its manufacturing facility in Satara, India. The transaction does not include any product approvals or regulatory filings.

The East Brunswick facility is an operational manufacturing site equipped for the production of oral solid and oral liquid formulations. The facility has undergone successful US Food and Drug Administration (USFDA) inspections for more than a decade, including three completed inspections. The USFDA conducted an unannounced inspection of the site in May 2026, resulting in a Form 483 with six observations that were primarily procedural in nature and unrelated to data integrity concerns. InvaTech submitted its response within the prescribed timeframe and completed the expected corrective actions. Rubicon expects the inspection process to be concluded successfully in due course.

The facility will support the manufacturing of Rubicon’s specialty and high-value pharmaceutical products, while also creating opportunities to serve demand from US government departments and other strategic customers. The company plans to begin manufacturing its products at the site in calendar year 2027 after implementing Rubicon’s quality management systems and completing necessary operational preparations.

Commenting on the acquisition, Parag Sancheti, CEO, Rubicon Research, said, “The ability to manufacture in the US strongly complements our growing portfolio of branded and specialty products. This facility enables us to be closer to our customers while enhancing agility and resilience across our global supply chain. The site’s strong USFDA inspection history, combined with its location adjacent to our US distribution centre operated by AimRx, creates a unique opportunity for efficient expansion. We plan to make significant capital investments over the next three years to broaden and strengthen manufacturing capabilities at this facility.” The acquisition marks an important step in Rubicon’s global expansion strategy by adding US manufacturing capabilities to its existing network of internationally inspected facilities.

Established in 1999, Rubicon Research has evolved from a contract development services organization into an R&D-driven, vertically integrated pharmaceutical company with capabilities across research and development, specialty, branded and generic product commercialization, and manufacturing across multiple dosage forms.

The company currently has a portfolio of more than 80 pharmaceutical products across multiple therapeutic areas, including a strong presence in central nervous system (CNS) therapies. Rubicon operates globally inspected manufacturing facilities in India and maintains a research and development organization of over 200 scientists across development centres in Mumbai and Toronto, focused on advanced formulation expertise and differentiated drug delivery technologies.
