ZF Group is showcasing its latest commercial vehicle technologies at Prawaas 5.0, India’s flagship multimodal transport exhibition, highlighting a comprehensive portfolio of solutions designed to support safer, smarter and more sustainable public transportation. The event, organised by the Bus and Car Operators Confederation of India (BOCI), brings together stakeholders from across the mobility ecosystem to accelerate the country’s transition towards future-ready public transport.
At the exhibition, ZF is presenting a range of Original Equipment (OE) and aftermarket technologies covering electrification, braking systems, chassis components, connectivity, advanced safety and fleet management. The solutions are designed to help vehicle manufacturers and fleet operators improve operational efficiency, enhance passenger safety and reduce environmental impact while supporting India’s growing adoption of electric and connected mobility.
Among the key exhibits is the AxTrax 2 electric axle, an integrated propulsion system for light- and medium-duty electric buses. The compact solution combines the electric motor, inverter, electronic control unit, transmission and actuator into a single axle assembly, simplifying vehicle architecture while improving energy efficiency and supporting zero-emission public transport.
ZF is also displaying its RL82A front axle system, developed for low-floor city buses. Engineered to improve manoeuvrability in urban environments, the axle features steering angles of up to 55 degrees, internally ventilated disc brakes and a low-maintenance design that contributes to enhanced passenger comfort and vehicle safety.
The company’s exhibit also includes modular Door Control Solutions for pneumatic and electric bus doors. Equipped with features such as anti-clamping protection, emergency opening functionality and CAN-bus connectivity, the systems are designed to improve passenger safety while providing flexibility for different vehicle configurations.
Commenting on the company’s participation, Akash Passey, President, ZF Group India, said, “India’s public transport sector is undergoing rapid transformation driven by urbanisation, sustainability goals and increasing expectations around safety and operational efficiency. Our technologies combine global engineering expertise with local market understanding to support manufacturers and fleet operators as they transition towards cleaner, connected and software-enabled mobility.”
The company is also demonstrating a broad portfolio of advanced driver assistance systems (ADAS), electronic braking systems (EBS), electronic stability control (ESC), electronically controlled air suspension (ECAS), tyre pressure monitoring systems (TPMS), connected fleet technologies and other vehicle control solutions that enhance safety, performance and fleet productivity. In addition, ZF Aftermarket is presenting OE-quality replacement products, including brake components, steering systems, lubricants, cooling solutions and 360-degree camera systems that help improve vehicle reliability and lifecycle performance.
Alongside the exhibition, ZF executives are participating in industry discussions on the future of public transportation, including the role of electrification in school bus mobility. Through its participation at Prawaas 5.0, ZF Group is reinforcing its commitment to supporting India’s transition towards cleaner, safer and more efficient commercial vehicle mobility through advanced engineering and integrated technology solutions.
