SKF has awarded Tata Consultancy Services (TCS) a long-term strategic contract to lead a comprehensive AI-enabled business transformation initiative across its global operations. The partnership is aimed at modernising SKF’s technology landscape, strengthening operational resilience, and building a future-ready digital foundation to support growth and innovation across the industrial manufacturing value chain.
Under the agreement, TCS will deliver end-to-end managed services spanning applications, infrastructure, data, connectivity, cybersecurity, and end-user services across SKF’s worldwide operations. The transformation program will combine advanced AI capabilities with manufacturing domain expertise to simplify and standardise SKF’s technology environment while improving efficiency, agility, and customer responsiveness.
The collaboration will focus on creating an integrated and intelligent operating model that supports SKF’s long-term digital ambitions. TCS will help modernise core infrastructure, streamline operations, and accelerate the adoption of next-generation enterprise resource planning systems. The initiative will also introduce AI-led workflows and data-driven systems designed to improve decision-making, operational reliability, and scalability across the organisation.
SKF President and CEO Rickard Gustafson said the future of industrial manufacturing will increasingly depend on how effectively companies integrate artificial intelligence into product development, production, and customer engagement. He noted that the partnership with TCS represents a strategic commitment to building advanced operational capabilities that will support innovation, precision, and enhanced customer value in the years ahead.
TCS Managing Director and CEO K Krithivasan said the partnership reflects a shared vision to create a digitally connected and AI-enabled industrial enterprise. He added that TCS will leverage its deep manufacturing expertise, technology ecosystem, and enterprise-scale transformation capabilities to support SKF in building a resilient and adaptive business model capable of responding to evolving market and technology demands.
The program is expected to help SKF establish a globally connected operating structure that combines centralised AI-powered systems with the flexibility required to address local market needs. By embedding AI across business processes, products, and IT operations, SKF aims to accelerate growth, improve customer experience, and strengthen competitiveness across regional and global markets.
The agreement further reinforces TCS’ strong presence in the Nordic region, where the company has operated since 1991. TCS currently employs more than 20,000 professionals across Sweden, Finland, Norway, and Denmark, supporting leading enterprises in multiple industries. In Sweden, TCS has maintained operations for over three decades with offices in Stockholm, Gothenburg, and Malmö.
Founded in 1968, TCS operates across 56 countries with a global workforce supporting clients across industries worldwide. The company continues to focus on AI-led digital transformation initiatives spanning infrastructure, data platforms, enterprise systems, and intelligent business operations.
