Cyient Semiconductors Private Limited has announced the launch of seven gallium nitride (GaN) power semiconductor devices for the Indian market, developed using technology licensed from Navitas Semiconductor. The launch marks the company’s entry into commercial GaN power solutions and represents a significant milestone for India’s domestic semiconductor ecosystem.
The newly launched portfolio is designed to address increasing demand for high-efficiency and high-power-density semiconductor solutions across applications including AI data centres, telecommunications infrastructure, industrial power systems, consumer fast charging, and electric mobility platforms. The launch follows the strategic collaboration announced between Cyient Semiconductors and Navitas Semiconductor in December 2025.
Under the agreement, Cyient Semiconductors will license Navitas’ GaN technology for deployment within India while also serving as a secondary manufacturing source for selected GaN devices already in large-scale commercial production. The companies stated that the collaboration is expected to strengthen local supply chain resilience, improve domestic support capabilities, and support emerging localisation and sourcing initiatives under India’s semiconductor manufacturing push.
GaN semiconductor technology offers several performance advantages over traditional silicon-based power devices, including faster switching speeds, lower power losses, improved thermal efficiency, and higher power density. These capabilities allow system designers to reduce overall system size, simplify thermal management requirements, and improve energy efficiency.
Cyient Semiconductors said its initial GaN product portfolio will target power applications up to 650 volts, including USB-PD fast chargers, laptop and mobile adapters, AC-DC power supplies, AI infrastructure, telecommunications power systems, and EV charging solutions.
The first generation of products includes seven integrated GaN power devices packaged in industry-standard DPAK formats. The devices integrate control, drive, protection, EMI management, and current sensing capabilities into compact high-thermal-performance packages aimed at simplifying system design and accelerating adoption.
Suman Narayan, CEO of Cyient Semiconductors, said the launch represents the company’s first major step into advanced power semiconductor technologies and establishes the foundation for a broader GaN product roadmap. He stated that the new solutions are designed to support rapidly evolving power requirements across AI, industrial automation, consumer electronics, and mobility applications.
Chris Allexandre, President and CEO of Navitas Semiconductor, said India represents a key market within the company’s long-term growth strategy focused on high-performance GaN technologies. He added that the partnership with Cyient strengthens local support capabilities while supporting India’s “Make in India” semiconductor initiatives.
Cyient Semiconductors also outlined plans to gradually expand its GaN ecosystem through partnerships with local OSAT providers. Over time, the collaboration is expected to support domestic manufacturing of GaN power devices within India as local semiconductor infrastructure and market demand continue to mature.
Headquartered in Hyderabad, Cyient Semiconductors specialises in custom ASIC and ASSP solutions focused on analog mixed-signal technologies, intelligent power systems, and advanced semiconductor platforms. The company operates design centres in India, Belgium, and the United States, serving customers across automotive, robotics, industrial automation, and data centre industries.
