Cyient Semiconductors has announced the successful completion of its $85 million majority investment in Kinetic Technologies, marking a significant step in building a globally competitive semiconductor platform rooted in India. With this investment, Kinetic Technologies becomes part of Cyient Semiconductors’ expanding ecosystem, contributing a strong portfolio of proven technologies and market-ready products.

The company brings over 100 silicon-validated intellectual properties and more than 250 high-volume custom and application-specific standard products (ASSPs) across power management, protection, display power, and interface solutions. This integration enhances Cyient Semiconductors’ scale, strengthens its intellectual property base, and expands its presence in global markets.

The move reflects Cyient Semiconductors’ strategic focus on developing a differentiated semiconductor platform centered on custom silicon and ASSP solutions. The combined capabilities position the company to address growing global demand in power and compute infrastructure, targeting a market opportunity estimated at $44 billion.

By combining Cyient Semiconductors’ expertise in spec-to-silicon engineering with Kinetic Technologies’ established portfolio of power management and protection integrated circuits, the partnership is expected to deliver stronger design capabilities and operational efficiencies. It also provides Cyient access to Kinetic’s global customer base, enabling immediate commercial scale in high-growth semiconductor segments.

Kinetic Technologies will continue to operate under its existing leadership, ensuring continuity across engineering and customer engagements. At the same time, it will benefit from increased investments in research and development, as well as expanded global reach through Cyient’s network.

Suman Narayan, CEO of Cyient Semiconductors, stated that the investment accelerates the company’s vision of creating a globally relevant semiconductor innovation platform from India. He highlighted that the combination of advanced engineering capabilities, product expertise, and access to talent and manufacturing ecosystems will support the development of next-generation intelligent power solutions.

Kin Shum, CEO of Kinetic Technologies, noted that the partnership enhances the company’s ability to scale internationally, expand engineering capacity, and accelerate innovation in addressing complex power management challenges across key industries.

The transaction underscores a long-term commitment to building a modern, scalable semiconductor platform with global reach and India-led operations. It also aligns with national efforts such as the India Semiconductor Mission to position India as a hub for semiconductor innovation and advanced chip manufacturing.

Cyient Semiconductors, headquartered in Hyderabad, specializes in custom ASIC and ASSP development with expertise in analog mixed-signal, intelligent power solutions, and advanced semiconductor platforms. With design locations in India, Belgium, and the United States, the company supports global clients in data centers, robotics, automotive technologies, and industrial automation, helping them achieve greater efficiency and faster time-to-market.
