Bengaluru-based UCAM, one of India’s leading manufacturers of CNC rotary tables, made a strong showing at IMTS 2026 in Chicago. Its latest 4th and 5th axis rotary tables were displayed at the stall of Ekaras Inc, the company’s dealer for the United States market. The International Manufacturing Technology Show, the largest manufacturing technology exhibition in the Western Hemisphere, was held from 14 to 19 September 2026 at McCormick Place. UCAM’s products were showcased at Booth S339448.

The show gave UCAM a prominent platform to present Indian precision engineering to a North American audience. Over the six days, the stall saw a steady flow of business visitors, including machine shop owners, production engineers and procurement heads. Many of them enquired about adding UCAM rotary tables to their existing machining centres, and visitors particularly appreciated the consistency and quality that UCAM delivers across its range.

A partnership built for the US market

Ekaras Inc, based in Troy, Michigan, is a machine tool importer and solutions partner serving advanced manufacturers across North America. Its portfolio includes large format machining platforms and high performance accessories, with UCAM’s CNC rotary tables sitting alongside premium tool holding solutions. This allows Ekaras to offer American manufacturers a complete package, from spindle to table.

Speaking about the partnership, Varun Dev, CEO of UCAM, said, “Ekaras has been a strong partner for us in the United States. They understand the needs of American job shops and OEMs, and they have taken the UCAM brand directly to the customers who need precision and reliability on the shop floor. IMTS was the right stage to show what we can deliver together.”

He added, “The response at the Ekaras stall was very encouraging. Many visitors told us they were impressed by the consistency and build quality of our rotary tables. For us, this is proof that products designed and manufactured in India can compete with the best in the world.”

Precision for multi-axis machining

UCAM’s rotary tables help manufacturers convert standard 3-axis machining centres into 4th and 5th axis capable machines without a large capital investment. The range on display focused on precision, flexibility and higher machining capability, which makes it relevant for aerospace, defence, automotive, medical and energy manufacturers, all of whom were well represented among IMTS visitors.

Founded in Bengaluru by Indradev Babu nearly four decades ago, UCAM began with the mission of reducing India’s reliance on imported rotary systems. Under Varun Dev, who took charge as CEO in 2025, the company has sharpened its global focus with its vision of “Make in India for the World”, taking part in major international shows including EMO Hannover 2025.

IMTS 2026 opened with 1,788 exhibiting companies across 1.17 million square feet of exhibit space. By the morning of the opening day, the show had recorded over 80,000 registrants from all 50 US states and 113 countries, with attendance on pace to cross 90,000. Varun Dev said, “The US is a key market in our growth plans. With Ekaras on the ground and the connections we made at IMTS, we are confident of building a strong customer base in North America in the coming years.” For UCAM, IMTS 2026 marks another step in its journey from a Bengaluru shop floor to the global manufacturing stage.
