Successful PMTX and FACTEQ expo draw massive footfall despite postponement

The Pune Machine Tool Expo (PMTX) and Factory Equipment Expo (FACTEQ) kicked off on 25th May 2024 at the Pune International Exhibition and Convention Center, Moshi, Pune. Despite facing initial setbacks due to adverse weather conditions, the expo witnessed a remarkable turnout over its four-day duration.

The expo was originally scheduled from 23th to 26th  May 2024 at the same venue. But due to the bad weather and strong winds/rains which Pune was experiencing a few days back the expo was postponed to 25 to 28th May 2024.

Dignitaries including Farrokh N. Cooper, Chairman & Managing Director, Cooper Corporation Pvt Ltd, and Amol Nagar, Executive Director – Global Supply Chain GE Aerospace, Cincinnati OH, graced the event as Guests of Honour. S. S. Survase, Joint Director of Industries, Directorate of Industries, Government of Maharashtra, also attended as the Special Guest. The inauguration ceremony was further graced by the presence of industry stalwarts such as Rajendra. S. Rajamane, President, IMTMA, and Mohini Kelkar, Vice President, IMTMA, among others.

Reflecting on the event, Guru Prasath, Executive Director of Trade Fairs at IMTMA, expressed satisfaction with the overwhelming response received. He said, “The expo featured 230 exhibitors and welcomed over 1,400 visitors, showcasing the latest advancements in machine tools and factory equipment. Notably, the PMTX witnessed a substantial increase in footfall compared to its previous edition, with over 200% growth.”

Mr Prasath, further added, “The inclusion of FACTEQ garnered positive feedback, providing attendees with insights into both machine tools and factory equipment, thus enriching their experience. The participation of trade delegations from across Western and Southern regions, underscored the event’s significance in the manufacturing landscape.”

Rajesh Mandlik, CEO and MD of Setco Spindles India Pvt Ltd, lauded the efforts of Team IMTMA in overcoming challenges and ensuring the success of the expo. He also highlighted the need for permanent infrastructure at the Pune International Exhibition Center to accommodate the growing demand for such events.

Expressing high number of footfalls, Sachin Mahajan, Marketing Manager, Quaker Houghton and Vinayak Deshpande, Marketing Manager, Global CNC Automation cited the expo’s effectiveness in generating leads and fostering business opportunities. Established in 1946, IMTMA continues to play a pivotal role in advancing India’s machine tool industry through various initiatives aimed at fostering growth and development. In conclusion, the PMTX and FACTEQ expo emerged as a massive success, showcasing innovation, fostering collaborations, and reaffirming Pune’s position as a hub for industrial excellence.
