In the competitive landscape of Indian manufacturing, OMG Auto Mould has quickly made its mark by supplying high-precision injection moulds to the automotive and white goods industries. The company’s roots trace back to a small tool shop focused on pipe fittings and engineering applications, which has steadily grown over the years into a modern manufacturing setup.

By adopting advanced technologies, developing versatile machining capabilities, and maintaining cost efficiency, OMG Auto Mould has stayed closely aligned with customer requirements. Over the past few years, the company has built a strong technical team and robust infrastructure, enabling it to manufacture small to large injection moulds supported by structured project management and strict quality processes.

OMG Auto Mould, a specialised division of the Om Galaxy Group, is set to make its first appearance at Moldex, with a strong focus on expanding its presence in South India’s growing automotive startup and electric vehicle (EV) ecosystem. In a recent virtual interaction, Nandakumar Puthiyaveetil, principal founder of OMG Auto Mould, shared insights into the company’s plans, growth journey, and future direction.

Speaking about the preparations, Mr Nandakumar said the company is well prepared for the exhibition. He explained that the key reason for participating in Moldex is to connect with the fast-growing startup clusters in Hosur, Krishnagiri, Coimbatore, Chennai and Bengaluru. “South India has become a startup hub, especially for EV companies. Many of these new players are not familiar with traditional mould makers, and we want to make ourselves visible to them,” he said.

At Moldex, OMG Auto Mould will showcase a range of plastic injection mould components to demonstrate its technical capabilities. The company works across two-wheelers, four-wheelers, and commercial vehicles, serving both internal combustion engine (ICE) and electric vehicle (EV) segments. This wide application highlights the company’s growing role across the automotive manufacturing value chain.

Clarifying the group’s participation, Mr Nandakumar stated that only OMG Auto Mould will be present at Moldex. The parent company, Om Galaxy Group, is already a market leader in pipe fitting moulds and has a strong customer base across India, making additional visibility in the southern region unnecessary for that segment.

Mr Nandakumar, a qualified tool and die engineer from a prestigious NTTF, brings years of hands-on industry experience. Before starting OMG Auto Mould, he led several commercial tool rooms in Mumbai. Along with partners Chairman Opinder Singh, Jyothish Nambiar, and Satyapal, he founded the company after noticing major gaps between customer expectations and service delivery in the Indian tool room industry.

“There was a clear gap between demand and supply, and between what customers expected and what was delivered,” Nandakumar explained. Inspired by global benchmarks, he wanted to prove that Indian tool rooms could match international standards without the limitations faced in traditional commercial setups.

The company’s growth reflects this vision. OMG Auto Mould has recorded over 40% year-on-year growth, making it one of the fastest-growing tool rooms in India. While demand continues to rise, Nandakumar noted that the main challenge today is meeting the industry’s large requirements.

To overcome this, the company is investing heavily in expansion. New machines are added almost every month, and an 180,000 sq ft integrated facility in Vasai is currently under construction and expected to be operational next year. This single-location setup will help OM GALAXY GROUP reduce lead times by avoiding delays caused by multiple scattered units.

Looking ahead, OMG Auto Mould is actively evaluating the establishment of a dedicated manufacturing and service unit in South India by 2027, a move largely driven by increasing customer demand for faster response times and localized technical support. With South India emerging as a major hub for automotive manufacturing, EV startups, and engineering innovation, the region has become strategically important for the company’s long-term growth.

Currently, many customers based in the southern clusters require immediate support for engineering changes, design modifications, and tooling adjustments, which often become time-sensitive during new product development and launch phases. By having a dedicated unit closer to these customers, OMG Auto Mould aims to significantly reduce response times, enabling its technical teams to address issues and implement changes within hours rather than days.

The proposed South India facility would focus on engineering support, tool servicing, and rapid modifications, strengthening collaboration with customers during critical project stages. This local presence is also expected to enhance communication, improve coordination, and build stronger long-term partnerships with OEMs and Tier-1 suppliers operating in the region.

In addition to operational benefits, the expansion aligns with OMG Auto Mould’s broader strategy of staying closely connected to evolving market needs, especially in the electric vehicle and startup ecosystem, where agility and speed are key success factors. As product cycles shorten and innovation accelerates, proximity to customers becomes a competitive advantage.

By planning a South India unit, OMG Auto Mould reinforces its commitment to customer-centric growth, faster execution, and technical excellence. This forward-looking approach reflects the company’s vision to scale responsibly while continuing to deliver high-precision, reliable mould solutions that support the next phase of India’s manufacturing and mobility transformation.
