CemeCon AG, the German manufacturer of PVD coating systems and tool coatings, will exhibit at GrindingHub 2026 from 5 to 8 May at Messe Stuttgart. The company will be at Hall 7, Booth A66, presenting its CC800® HiPIMS coating system alongside a range of coating solutions for precision cutting tools.
The central message at the booth is flexibility. CemeCon’s CC800® HiPIMS is designed to produce a wide range of coating types on a single platform — from high-performance PVD coatings for rotary tools and indexable inserts to application-specific formulations for demanding materials. The system can handle coating thicknesses from 1 µm to 12 µm and process up to 1,800 rotary tools or 5,000 indexable inserts per batch.
HiPIMS (High Power Impulse Magnetron Sputtering) is a pulsed PVD process that achieves significantly higher ionisation of the coating material compared to conventional sputtering. The result is a denser coating morphology and a higher hardness-to-elasticity ratio — properties that translate directly into longer tool life, better surface finish, and more predictable performance in difficult-to-machine materials.
Beyond the booth, CemeCon is also participating in the GrindingHub Solution Forum, the show’s newly revamped programme of practical industry sessions. The forum follows a challenge-solution-insight format, covering topics from process stability and automation to cost-effectiveness in grinding technology.
CemeCon’s presence at GrindingHub reflects its ongoing collaboration with ANCA, the CNC grinding machine manufacturer. The two companies have worked together across previous GrindingHub editions to address the full tool manufacturing process chain, from grinding through to coating, and continue that work in Stuttgart.
Tool manufacturers looking to explore HiPIMS coating technology or discuss application-specific requirements can visit the CemeCon team at Hall 7, Booth A66, from 5 to 8 May 2026. Founded in 1986 and headquartered in Würselen, Germany, CemeCon AG develops and manufactures PVD coating equipment and coating services for the precision tool industry. The company is recognised as a technology leader in HiPIMS and diamond coatings, with installations across Europe, the Americas, and Asia. Its CC800® HiPIMS system is used by tool manufacturers to coat rotary tools, indexable inserts, and precision components across medical, aerospace, automotive, and general machining applications.
