Yutong Bus has opened its first comprehensive Yutong Service Center in Europe in Stokke, Norway, bringing vehicle delivery, after-sales service, spare parts supply, inspections and technical training under one facility. The center was inaugurated on September 8 as Norway continues to expand the use of electric public transport. The new facility is designed to strengthen local maintenance and service capabilities for Yutong’s pure electric buses and provide fleet operators with support throughout the vehicle lifecycle.

The facility covers approximately 38,941 square metres, including a building area of 6,074 square metres and a 2,300-square-metre spare parts warehouse. It combines vehicle display and delivery areas, maintenance and repair facilities, parts storage, training spaces and customer service functions.

“The service center is positioned as a comprehensive, centralized service hub, with a large inventory of parts, inspection facilities, professional service bays, and dedicated training equipment,” said Jack Li, CEO of Yutong Central and Northern Europe. “Through efficient operations, we aim to help reduce customers’ total cost of ownership and maximize bus uptime.”

The center has seven standard maintenance bays along with dedicated facilities for powertrain and large-component repairs. Equipment includes four-post lifts, electronic laser wheel alignment systems, brake testing equipment and heavy-duty tyre balancing systems.

The facility can undertake repairs and maintenance involving chassis, electrical and high-voltage systems, powertrains, air-conditioning systems and vehicle interiors. It can also support work on non-severe accident vehicles, alcohol interlocks and tachographs.

Built to European Union standards, the center has a dedicated inspection line for Norway’s mandatory PKK annual vehicle inspections. The line includes a 31.5-metre inspection pit, two 16-tonne pit jacks and equipment for brake, lighting, side-slip and onboard diagnostics testing. The facility can carry out checks covering chassis, braking systems, safety equipment, onboard diagnostics and powertrain compliance.

The spare parts warehouse holds around 4,500 SKUs of Yutong genuine parts covering batteries, motors, electronic control systems, powertrains, chassis, steering, pneumatic and hydraulic systems, vehicle interiors and exteriors, wear parts and maintenance consumables.

The facility also includes classrooms and hands-on training areas. Training equipment includes a whole-vehicle platform for pure electric buses and dedicated units covering air conditioning, EBS braking, heaters, batteries, motors, electronic control systems and rear-axle components. Training is focused on component identification, operating principles, simulation and fault diagnosis, with equipment based on components used in actual vehicles.

Yutong said the center will support faster diagnostics, maintenance and parts supply while helping operators reduce vehicle downtime. The company plans to extend its localised service approach to markets including the Netherlands, Chile, Kazakhstan and Saudi Arabia. The Stokke facility forms part of Yutong’s “EnRoute+” global service programme and is intended to strengthen local service capabilities as European public transport operators increase the use of electric buses.
