XCMG has broken ground on the XCMG Indonesia Remanufacturing Center in Balikpapan, marking the company’s first overseas facility dedicated to the overhaul and remanufacturing of mining equipment components. The facility is being developed as a localized aftermarket service center to support mining equipment throughout its operational lifecycle. It will bring together component overhaul and remanufacturing, regional parts warehousing, technical talent development and used-equipment refurbishment.
The center will connect key aftermarket processes, including recovery and inspection of used components, repair and remanufacturing, parts supply and on-site technical service. The integrated setup is designed to provide mining customers in Indonesia with faster access to maintenance and component support.
The facility will follow global remanufacturing standards and a lean quality management system. Once operational, major overhaul work will be carried out locally, reducing equipment downtime and shortening service response times. The restored components will be assessed against established performance requirements.
The localized service model is expected to help mining customers manage operating costs, improve equipment availability and increase the efficiency of equipment operations. It also forms part of XCMG’s strategy to expand from equipment supply towards full-lifecycle services.
“With the remanufacturing center located here, overhaul and spare-parts support will be faster, and downtime-related losses will be easier to control,” said a representative of an Indonesian mining customer. “This gives us greater confidence in deepening our cooperation with XCMG.”
XCMG has operated in Indonesia for more than 30 years and has progressively expanded its local capabilities across equipment sales, research and development, manufacturing, parts supply, services and financing. The remanufacturing center follows several developments in the company’s Indonesia operations during 2026. Earlier in September, XCMG introduced XCMG Indonesia Finance Company, also known as ABC Multi Finance, during Mining Indonesia 2026 in Jakarta. The initiative expanded the company’s local offering to include financing solutions alongside equipment, technology and services.
XCMG also completed and commissioned its Indonesia New Energy Manufacturing Base earlier this year. The facility is intended to bring manufacturing and equipment delivery closer to customers in the local market. The company has also established an Indonesia R&D center focused on adapting equipment to local operating conditions, including high temperatures, high humidity and complex work environments.
The new remanufacturing center will add localized component overhaul and refurbishment to this existing network. XCMG said the expanded capabilities will allow it to provide more comprehensive support to customers in Indonesia’s mining and infrastructure sectors.
By integrating R&D, manufacturing, supply, sales, service, financing and remanufacturing capabilities, XCMG is seeking to strengthen its local operations and provide equipment support throughout the product lifecycle. The company also aims to support customers as they work towards more efficient and lower-impact mining and infrastructure operations.
