The Wilo Group has once again been honored with the German Sustainability Award (DNP), earning top recognition in the ‘Hydraulics, Pumps and Compressors’ sector. The award highlights Wilo’s comprehensive commitment to sustainable innovation. This accolade follows closely on the heels of Wilo receiving the platinum medal from EcoVadis for the fourth consecutive time, which praised the company’s outstanding dedication to sustainability.
Oliver Hermes, President and Global CEO of Wilo Group, commented, “Receiving the German Sustainability Award 2026 is a great honor, but it also comes with responsibility. As leaders in water technology, we see it as our duty to drive sustainable change forward. This recognition confirms that we are moving in the right direction and inspires us to deepen our sustainability efforts.”
Peter Glauner, Regional CEO and CSO of Wilo Europe, added, “Our efficient and reliable water technologies, including pumps and pump systems, are essential for a sustainable future. The German Sustainability Award recognizes the important role our products and solutions play in addressing global challenges.”
A central pillar of Wilo’s strategy is WATER AI, which brings the company’s vision into the digital age. “We are incorporating AI throughout our products and operations while keeping a strong focus on the human element,” said Hermes. “This approach ensures technology supports long-term sustainability goals in a meaningful way.”
Wilo previously received the DNP in 2021 in the ‘Climate’ transformation category, acknowledging its early commitment to integrating sustainability into its core business model. In addition, Wilo partnered with the German Sustainability Award Foundation to present the International German Sustainability Award in 2023 and 2024, which celebrates successful cooperation between German companies and partners in the Global South. The German Sustainability Award is one of the country’s most respected honors for sustainable business practices. It is organized in cooperation with PwC, the German Chamber of Industry and Commerce (DIHK), and the World Wide Fund for Nature (WWF).
