WABAG Wins Delhi Jal Board Order for Advanced Wastewater Treatment Plant in Mitraon

VA TECH WABAG, a leading Indian multinational focused exclusively on water technology solutions, has secured a Design, Build and Operate (DBO) order from the Delhi Jal Board for the development of a state-of-the-art wastewater treatment plant at Mitraon in Delhi. The order, categorized as a “medium” value project, includes the design, engineering, construction and commissioning of a 17 MGD wastewater treatment plant along with associated sludge dewatering facilities, pumping stations and piping infrastructure. Following commissioning, WABAG will also undertake the operations and maintenance of the facility for a specified period.

The project is expected to be completed within 21 months and is aimed at strengthening Delhi’s wastewater management infrastructure while supporting long-term environmental sustainability goals. The new treatment facility is designed to improve urban sanitation standards and contribute toward cleaner waterways through the deployment of advanced and sustainable wastewater treatment technologies.

The upcoming plant will incorporate energy-efficient systems, modern odour control mechanisms and green landscaping features to ensure environmentally responsible operations. The project reflects an integrated and future-focused approach to wastewater management that aligns with the growing need for sustainable urban infrastructure in rapidly expanding metropolitan regions.
