VE Commercial Vehicles Ltd (VECV), a joint venture between Volvo Group and Eicher Motors, reported total sales of 7,978 units in May 2026, compared with 7,401 units in the same month last year, reflecting a year-on-year growth of 7.8 percent. The performance was driven primarily by strong demand for Eicher branded trucks and buses, along with improved momentum in the Volvo portfolio.

Eicher branded commercial vehicles recorded sales of 7,789 units in May 2026, compared to 7,258 units in May 2025, registering a growth of 7.3 percent. Within the domestic market, Eicher trucks and buses posted sales of 7,375 units versus 6,758 units in the corresponding period last year, marking a 9.1 percent increase. The domestic performance continued to be supported by sustained demand from logistics, infrastructure, and passenger mobility segments.

On the export front, VECV recorded sales of 414 units in May 2026, compared with 500 units in May 2025, reflecting a decline of 17.2 percent. The company attributed the moderation in exports to evolving global market conditions and cyclical demand shifts in select overseas markets.

Volvo Trucks and Volvo Buses recorded sales of 189 units in May 2026, compared with 143 units in May 2025, representing a strong growth of 32.2 percent. The premium segment performance was supported by improved fleet replacement demand and strengthening customer confidence in high-end transport solutions. The overall growth trajectory highlights continued resilience in India’s commercial vehicle market, particularly in the domestic segment, where infrastructure expansion, logistics modernization, and sustained freight movement continue to support demand.

VECV continues to strengthen its position as a multi-brand commercial vehicle manufacturer, offering a comprehensive portfolio of Eicher branded trucks and buses, Volvo buses, and Volvo truck distribution in India. The company also operates engine manufacturing and export operations for the Volvo Group, along with non-automotive engines and component solutions.

A multi-division enterprise backed by technology collaboration between Volvo Group and Eicher Motors, VECV remains focused on modernizing commercial transportation in India through fuel-efficient, reliable, and technology-enabled mobility solutions. The company continues to invest in product innovation, service enhancement, and network expansion to support evolving customer requirements across cargo and passenger transport segments.
