Persistent Systems (BSE: 533179, NSE: PERSISTENT) and Kong Inc have announced a strategic partnership to help global enterprises securely deploy and scale artificial intelligence by establishing a unified control layer for APIs, data, and AI workloads Under this collaboration, Persistent will serve as Kong’s global systems integration partner, combining its engineering-led digital transformation expertise with Kong’s unified API and AI connectivity platform. The objective is to enable enterprises to modernize integration frameworks, strengthen governance, and accelerate production deployment of AI systems across hybrid and multi-cloud environments.
The partnership addresses a key challenge facing enterprises transitioning from AI experimentation to production-scale deployment: the need for secure, governed, and observable connectivity across increasingly complex systems. As APIs, models, data pipelines, and AI agents converge, enterprises require a unified infrastructure layer to manage interactions, enforce policy controls, and ensure operational reliability.
Through the joint offering, organizations will be able to implement Kong’s AI and API connectivity platform across enterprise ecosystems while leveraging Persistent’s GenAI Hub and digital engineering capabilities. The solution is designed to support modernization of legacy API environments, reduce operational complexity, and improve cost efficiency while enabling secure AI adoption at scale.
The collaboration also enables enterprises to operationalize generative AI and agentic workflows, including Model Context Protocol-based architectures, with integrated security, observability, and governance. Built-in safeguards include Personally Identifiable Information (PII) protection, centralized identity and access management, and end-to-end monitoring to ensure compliance across AI and API interactions.
Anand Krishnan, Executive Vice President at Persistent Systems, said enterprises will be defined by how effectively they manage intelligence flows rather than model access. “APIs now function as the control layer for enterprise AI. Our partnership with Kong brings together engineering depth and unified connectivity to help organizations move from fragmented initiatives to scalable, production-ready AI systems with strong governance and measurable outcomes,” he said.
Ken Kim, Senior Vice President and Head of Business Development at Kong, said enterprises require a robust infrastructure layer to manage the growing complexity of AI workloads. “APIs are central to connecting services, data, and models. Together with Persistent, we are enabling enterprises to secure, govern, and scale AI and API traffic across any environment with consistent policy enforcement and observability,” he said.
Kong Inc provides a unified API and AI connectivity platform used by global enterprises to manage and secure traffic across modern digital systems. Persistent Systems operates globally, delivering digital engineering and enterprise modernization services across industries. With a workforce spread across multiple countries, the company focuses on areas such as software engineering, cloud computing, data analytics and intelligent automation.
