Valeo has been selected by Nissan as the system Tier-1 supplier for Nissan’s next-generation ProPILOT program. Valeo will provide a comprehensive hardware and software platform designed to support AI-based driving capabilities, with Wayve’s AI Driver software integrated as the driving intelligence layer within the automotive-grade system.

The program will combine Valeo’s expertise in advanced driver assistance systems (ADAS), sensing technologies, high-performance computing and automotive software with Wayve’s AI Driver technology. The integrated platform is intended to support Nissan’s next-generation automated driving capabilities and meet the safety, quality and scalability requirements of mass-production vehicles.

Marc Vrecko, CEO of Valeo Brain Division, said, “We are honored to have been selected by Nissan as the System Tier-1 partner for its ambitious next-generation ProPILOT program. This program demonstrates Valeo’s ability to combine a comprehensive sensor portfolio, high-performance computing and software expertise with advanced AI technology.” He added that Valeo, Nissan and Wayve would work together to deliver an AI-defined vehicle platform designed for mass production.

As the lead system integrator, Valeo will bring together sensors, ADAS computing and Wayve’s AI Driver software into a production-ready system for Nissan’s future vehicles. The company will also support validation, integration and industrialisation of the complete solution.

Valeo’s contribution includes a centralized intelligence architecture built around an ADAS Domain Controller. The controller is designed to process complex AI algorithms and support centralized vehicle intelligence, enabling the system to integrate information from multiple vehicle sensors and provide 360-degree situational awareness.

The platform is designed to combine high-performance computing with a comprehensive sensor portfolio and software capabilities. Valeo said the approach will help connect advanced AI driving functions with the requirements of automotive-grade production systems.

The partnership brings together the capabilities of three companies across different parts of the automated driving technology stack. Nissan is developing its next-generation ProPILOT program, Valeo is responsible for system-level hardware and software integration, while Wayve’s AI Driver provides the driving intelligence layer.

Valeo will work with Nissan and Wayve through the development and industrialisation process to validate the integrated platform and prepare it for series production. Valeo is a global technology company supplying automotive solutions across electrification, advanced driver assistance systems, lighting and software. The company is organised around its POWER, BRAIN and LIGHT divisions, as well as Valeo Service, which serves the aftermarket and new mobility markets.

Valeo reported sales of €20.9 billion in 2025 and had approximately 100,000 employees worldwide. As of February 26, 2026, the Group operated across 29 countries with 149 production plants, 59 research and development centres and 19 distribution platforms.
