PT TVS Motor Company Indonesia has become the first overseas manufacturing facility of TVS Motor Company to receive the GreenCo Lite Platinum Rating from the CII GreenCo Council, marking a significant milestone in the company’s global sustainability programme.The recognition was presented during the GreenCo Summit 2026, where the Indonesian manufacturing facility was honoured for its achievements in sustainable manufacturing, efficient resource utilisation, environmental management and operational excellence.
The GreenCo Lite Rating System, developed by the CII GreenCo Council, is an internationally benchmarked sustainability assessment framework that evaluates manufacturing facilities across multiple environmental performance indicators. These include energy efficiency, water conservation, renewable energy utilisation, greenhouse gas emissions, waste management, material resource efficiency, green supply chain practices and environmental management systems.
The Platinum Rating represents the highest level of recognition under the GreenCo Lite framework and reflects the Indonesian facility’s consistent efforts to integrate sustainable practices into every aspect of its manufacturing operations.The achievement highlights TVS Motor Company’s continued investment in environmentally responsible production processes while strengthening the sustainability standards across its international manufacturing network. It also establishes the Indonesian plant as a benchmark for the company’s global operations.
Commenting on the recognition, Thakur Pherwani, Chief Sustainability Officer, TVS Motor Company, said sustainability remains central to the company’s manufacturing philosophy. He noted that the certification is an important milestone in TVS Motor Company’s global sustainability journey and demonstrates its commitment to developing manufacturing facilities that are efficient, environmentally responsible and prepared for future industry requirements. He added that the Indonesian facility has established a strong example for other manufacturing units across the company’s international operations.
TVS Motor Company has been implementing a range of sustainability initiatives across its manufacturing facilities, focusing on resource optimisation, energy conservation, circular economy practices, waste reduction and continuous improvements in operational efficiency. These initiatives support the company’s broader objective of reducing environmental impact while maintaining high manufacturing standards.

He noted that becoming the first overseas TVS facility to achieve the GreenCo Lite Platinum Rating reflects how advanced manufacturing and environmental responsibility can be successfully integrated. He also congratulated the Indonesian team for setting an example that could encourage wider adoption of sustainable manufacturing practices across the ASEAN region and other international markets.
The certification further underlines the growing international acceptance of the GreenCo framework as a comprehensive benchmarking system for industrial sustainability. Through its assessment programmes, the CII GreenCo Council continues to work with industries worldwide to improve resource efficiency, environmental performance and long-term competitiveness.
In addition to the Indonesian facility’s achievement, TVS Motor Company was honoured with the GreenCo Champion Award at the GreenCo Summit 2026, while its Hosur manufacturing facility received the GreenCo Platinum Rating. These recognitions reflect the company’s integrated approach to sustainable manufacturing and reinforce its commitment to building environmentally responsible operations across its global production network.
