Touax Group, Texmaco Rail & Engineering Limited, and TrinityRail Global, Inc have announced a landmark partnership that brings together three leading rail industry specialists to expand and strengthen railcar leasing solutions in India. The collaboration marks a significant development for the country’s rapidly evolving freight transportation sector and establishes one of the most comprehensive rail leasing platforms in the market.

As part of the arrangement, TrinityRail Global, a subsidiary of Trinity Industries, has acquired a 32 percent stake in Touax Texmaco Railcar Leasing Pvt. Ltd. (TTRL), joining the existing partnership between Touax Group and Texmaco Rail & Engineering. The enhanced ownership structure combines expertise in manufacturing, leasing, asset management, and railcar technology under a single operating platform designed to support India’s growing freight requirements.

The partnership arrives at a critical stage in India’s transportation transformation, as policymakers seek to increase rail’s share of freight movement from 27 percent to 45 percent. Achieving this target is expected to generate substantial demand for modern freight wagons and create opportunities for greater private-sector participation in logistics infrastructure.

Through the combined strengths of the three companies, the platform will offer integrated services spanning railcar design, manufacturing, financing, leasing, maintenance, and lifecycle management. Customers will gain access to modern rolling stock through operating lease models that reduce upfront capital expenditure while improving fleet flexibility and asset utilization.

The alliance is also expected to introduce advanced wagon technologies developed by TrinityRail, including designs focused on higher payload capacities, improved safety standards, lower maintenance requirements, and enhanced operational efficiency. These technologies will be adapted for Indian operating conditions through Texmaco’s engineering and development capabilities.

A key objective of the partnership is to support domestic manufacturing and strengthen local supply chains. Leveraging Texmaco’s extensive production network across India, the venture aims to increase indigenous value creation while contributing to national industrial development initiatives.

Access to global capital markets and international leasing expertise is expected to improve financing efficiency and accelerate the adoption of modern rail assets across the freight ecosystem. The initiative also aligns with broader efforts to reduce logistics costs and improve supply chain competitiveness.

Part of the Adventz Group, Texmaco Rail & Engineering operates seven manufacturing facilities across India and has established itself as a key supplier to Indian Railways, industrial customers, and export markets. The company’s portfolio spans freight wagons, railway infrastructure systems, hydro-mechanical equipment, and mobility engineering solutions supporting transportation modernization and industrial development initiatives.
